Genuinely believe someone that has never heard of Survivor in their life would've played a better game than the guy that just got voted out. What an idiot.

"I never quit." - You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means...

Well, at least he didn't quit and ask to be voted out. I suppose that would have been the final straw. I have a feeling that Jelinsky belongs over on the 'confidently incorrect' reddit. He seemed to always be confidently wrong about everything.

I will admit that the Sweat challenge did seem kind of lopsided. I don't think I've ever seen anyone quit it before, but...it didn't look like they stood much of a chance of doing it. The Survivor folks must have tested it to make sure that it was doable, but...man. I wonder if they needed 1-2 less holes in the buckets. Or maybe a better idea would have been to have 1 person use both buckets, offsetting the holes so they stayed full. Then alternate trips, so you don't exhaust yourselves.

I like what I'm seeing out of Kenzie and Tiffany so far.

Not much of a read on the other two tribes yet.

For the bucket challenge you'd want to move as fast as you can on the way there, and really take it easy on the way back. Like doing intervals.

Q means business out there.

They say to go big or go home, but only one man could be so bold as to go big and go home. And that man is David Jelinsky.
He volunteered to do the sweat challenge… and then quit the sweat challenge. He boxed out any tribemates from going on the journey… and then used awesome Kenny Rogers lyrics to defend his decision to quit that game, too. I’m pretty sure the only thing Jelinsky did not quit in three days of Survivor was referring to himself in the third person. And thank goodness for that.

Plus, and this is going to sound absolutely crazy, I think he actually may be on to something with this whole "several means seven" thing. To be clear, he is hilariously wrong, and the fact that he thought the word several meant seven is my favorite thing since Owen Knight almost pooped his pants on an underwater Survivor camera operator.

That was a pretty decent opening episode. Looking at the cast I wasn't sure what we were in for, but I was pleasantly surprised by the game play.

It is really nice to see a vote, especially the first vote, that was based on game play and not who is the oldest or weakest female.

Jess is struggling but she fought for herself at tribal which was good, Jeff threw her a bit of a bone as well which was nice.

Really happy with my Tevin pick, I thought he was just going to be pure entertainment but he actually gets the game.

I know its only been 1 episide...but I can't recall being this pleased with a cast after 1 episode in a very long time.

The first guy out definitely deserved to be the first guy out. Gave off some S45 Brandon vibes.

That one guy comparing Venus to Parvati won't last long. Its one thing to think it, its another thing to say it out loud to people who have no foundations of trust or loyalty yet. I bet he's the first boot from his tribe.

Pumped to see where this season goes.

That bucket idea is really smart!

My two picks seem ok so far, so I'm happy about that. There sure are a lot of quirky people though. Years ago they would cast one or two quirky people and then a lot of normal people, but this season it's mostly quirky people and only one or two normal people thrown in the mix it seems.

Hm, not liking the 2 hour episodes. The 90's were pushing it, but I'm finding these 120's a slog.

Kenzie's right...she does have very pretty eyes.

The purple tribe made the right choice but man that tribe is a mess. I am utterly amused that they had to 'feed' Jess a fake idol.

Venus seems like a hot mess, too.

Liz is/was very annoying this episode.

After the greatness of Survivor AU last night this was terrible...if you haven't been watching that version pop over to the other thread and start downloading.

I can not believe how terrible this cast is

The tribe dynamics of Yanu are so awkward. I mean, you know things aren’t going swimmingly when one tribe member says she is eating ants — and I quote — “so I don’t have to talk.” I think my favorite pre-challenge scene on Yanu was when Kenzie tried to cover her bases by making a backup alliance with Jess and Bhanu, but the on-the-outs duo apparently refused to commit to joining.

In the end, Jess indeed was voted out, and all the ants in Fiji are now safe from her savage consumption laying waste to entire communities. You may not mourn the loss of Jess since she never really got her footing in the game, but the intoxicating mixture of chaos and confusion that the power trio of Jess, Jelinsky, and Bhanu have provided should be cherished evermore. I thank them all for their service.

Perhaps most upsetting of all, Jess never got to say her catchphrase of “tough titty” before leaving the game. For shame!

Jess booted, not sure what was going through her mind when she made the decision to join Survivor, she clearly never had a clue.
