Not at all. I will not be happy if the Flames trade Dougie. I really believe that him and Tkachuk should be the team's two most untouchable players. However, of course there are exceptions to that rule, but Mark Stone is not one of them.

This guy is not legitimate. I'm not sure why people keep giving in and re-posting his stuff here. If you look at his twitter he even tweets out questions to players on After Hours. Things he has tweeted in the past:

Khaira will be placed on waivers
Gryba to Ottawa for Hoffman
Garrison to the Oilers
Colin Miller to the Oilers
Iginla to Edmonton
Wideman to Edmonton on a PTO
Shane Doan to Florida
Flames looking at Upshall, Pirri, and Vanek
Duchene to the Flames
Iginla to the Flames
He'd be shocked if Draisaitl is an Oiler by January 2018
Hayes to Calgary
Sutter to coach the Sharks
Parayko to Edmonton
Kessel to Arizona
Brodie will be moved in a 3 way trade
Flames are a front runner for Kessel
Keep on eye on Lucic to Boston for Krejci
Flames will offer JVR 6 years at 6.5 mil
Flames are in on Hoffman
Panthers will offer Kovalchuk for 12 mil
Jagr will sign for 3.7 mil

It's pretty clear he has no sources and just speculates loosely based off what real insiders are saying. As they say though, you throw enough mud at the wall and some of it is bound to stick.

Fair enough. I agree that Hamilton would be extremely hard to give up. Ideally it would be Brodie+ for Stone then. Depending on the + of course...

No chance. Dougie is a 1/2D on team friendly contract. You don't trade those for wingers.

apparently he got the Hoffman trade right ... so (crosses fingers)

Has there been any chatter as to what money Stone might be asking for?

I’d argue $1mil per season on top of the Kane contract would be a fair comparable.

The Sens don't have their first rounder next year so I don't think they will deal away good players unless they are forced to (ie., Hoffman and Karlsson).

The fact they wanted Boedker, an NHL veteran in the Hoffman deal, instead of draft picks like what the Panthers offered, suggests they are going to try and ice as competitive a team next year as possible so Dorian doesn't hand the Avs a top 5 pick.

The only way they deal Mark Stone is if they know they have no chance of re-signing him, which may be the case if Stone has had enough of the circus and wants out.

Based off Stone's numbers he'll probably get 7 years betwen $6 and $6.5 million.

If Ottawa is going to go scorched earth rebuild, I would not only try to pry Stone from them, but Duchene as well.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Stone
Tkachuk - Duchene - Foo
Ferland - Backlund - Frolik

My goodness.

Now that Hoffman is gone. Does Karlsson still ask to be traded?

- The distraction is gone so maybe he elects to stay.
- Maybe he didn't like how they handled the situation and he doesn't trust the management and wants a fresh start elsewhere
- Maybe he doesn't see them as a contender anymore and wants to go somewhere with a better chance to win now.

That Joshua Marshall guy was all over these boards last summer and the only thing he got right was the Jagr signing. I wouldn't put much stock into his "rumours"

Man even for a illegitimate rumour it's hard not to shake this thought of Mark Stone on the Flames.

He becomes a top line RW for us, improves the power play, fits the age bracket built by Treliving, adds depth by moving other roster players down like Ferland or Frolik.

Given that Johnny, Mony and Tkachuk are the core that we are building around, and that we are able to spend from a wealth of defense, it only makes sense to add someone else to those players to have at least 4/6 legit players on the top 6.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Foo/RW prospect
Tkachuk - Bennett - Stone
Ferland - Backlund - Frolik

Dreamy.

I would be okay to bite the bullet and deal Brodie + Bennett for Stone.

Stone drives offense. Either load the top line or have a #2 line of Tkachuk and Stone.

Didn’t he break the Foo signing as well?

Yeah I feel like Brodie+Bennett is a fine offer not sure what Sens fans would say but Stone would be a fantastic add for the Flames. I really don’t want to trade Bennett but if we can move him and Brodie for a player I would think it takes Hamilton to acquire then you have to do it.
