The ratings have to be awful right now. It’s got to the point where even I turn it off after 15 minutes of listening. They should either tell boomer and warrener to work around each other’s schedule or replace them. This station apart from a couple people is unprofessional.

Morning Show with Ummmm and The Interrupter - no.

Boomer is always giving Warrener a hard time for taking so much time off but it seems both have them have been gone forever.

Doubt it, sure some posters on Calgarypuck seem like they have a very strong opinion on Fan960.

However, that opinion does not guarantee its speaks for everyone else.

Show ratings in my view will remain strong....

For most of 2018, the Fan has been third from the bottom for Calgary radio ratings. That's one spot lower than they were in 2016 and 2017. Not sure if they record or release time slot ratings.

Overall ratings matter little
What matters is how they are doing against very specific demos
That’s what matters to their advertisers

Sports radio doesn't need to be all things to all people. It just needs to be enough things to the people that matter to stay profitable.

Males 25-44 is their target IIRC and they do very well in that bracket.

I like Boomer and Warrener when the have the right person to balance them out. I also like Peter Klein quite a bit and think he will get better with experience.

Not a fan of Will but mostly just due to his tendency to constantly Interupt his guests during an interview.

I agree, and although Pinder can be annoying he added the perfect balance to the show - played the heel role perfectly. I used to listen 'religiously' but now with the rotating cast I listen more often to Spittin Chiclets.

Yup and I suspect now more than ever they go even more narrow to tell advertisers who specifically is listening. That's the only way radio can stay relevant - is to convince advertisers that you can reach exactly who you need to in a different way.
So I suspect the pitch to advertisers surrounds breaking down that demo even more- who are they, what do they buy, what do they drink, how do they spend their team. And then I suspect they also articulate how much they listen to the station, and how sticky it is. So then the advertiser benefits from repetition.

If you listen to who advertises on the Fan, it tells you a lot about ultimately who they care about in terms of who's listening.

I have a 6 minute drive to work (hooray Lethbridge) and if those guys arent on, I prefer listening to nothing.
