Bad news. Kassian has a broken hand so can’t fight and enforce his modified oiler code. He can leave his feet to hit Kotkaniemi though and he can literally give him a kicking too.

I personally don’t understand how there wasn’t a fine for kotkaniemi for intentionally hitting McAvi’s elbow. Also, Kotkaniemi’s face didn’t yield the right of way to where McAvi was swinging his arm. It’s like one of those “I’m going to throw a massive elbow right here and if your face is in the way, it’s your fault.”

Hmmm....two posts in a row.

I’d like to understand the difference between the $20 elbow to the head and the 5 minute major and game misconduct and league hearing offered to Vegas’ Chandler Stephenson for an elbow to the head of an LA King last night.

I could even argue that McAvi changed direction to deliver the head shot with no puck in view while Stephenson delivered the headshot via a hockey play in the corner.

I’m not suggesting that Stephenson was innocent at all but I am wondering about the wheel of justice yet again. Want to eliminate headshots? Punish them.

The only thing that Kassian looks to be the keeper of is herpes

Do you really need to ask that question?

The NHL is going to hype his point totals this year like mad. They aren't going to sabotage their own narrative by sitting him.

Eberle with his 14th goal tonight for the Islanders. If he were still on the Coilers, he’d be third in goals behind McCheapshot and the German. Good thing they traded him for *checks notes* absolutely nothing.

Listened to the most recent 31 Thoughts and about crashed my car when Elliotte Friedman kept going on and on about having a mandate that Connor McDavid should get more calls go in his favour by virtue of being a super star. Not because he rightyfully earned them, but because it would make the NHL more entertaining.

What a ridiculous and embarrassing thing to say.

It's almost like the Coilers enjoy losing.

Disgusting really as no matter how good you are, you should always be treated as equals in any sport, despite what (in this case) the "NHL powers that be" think.

Friedman, much like the Flames, has been off this year. I think he was infected by Ron MacLean's Oiler fanboyism.

Why does he do analysis? His bag is getting inside info? He knows zero about the actual game.

A lot of the times they like to stir things up in that podcast, so truly not surprising.

Was hoping that someone would give the Conna a elbow smash, but good for the Canadians in getting the win.

The Oilers blew a 2-0 lead in the third period to lose this game.

Edmonton is no good.

(BTW, I like how my phone suggests "is no good" every time I type "Edmonton.")

It's these small joys that should be celebrated as we stare down the abyss of this season (and what could be ugly seasons to follow).

Smith’s puck handling cost them the second goal (d couldn’t handle the puck) and got beat clean on the game winning goal. Vezina conversation over?
