How do you know when an investment may be a bad idea? When people who doing typically care much about finance start talking about it.

I remember my mom talking about wanting to buy gold as a kid.

My elementary teacher talking about Bre-X.

No better sign of a bubble than when the fringe of the herd feels they need in.

The whole purpose of a “stock” is it is ownership in a company / backed by the companies “value” as an asset. They are relatively liquid and tradeable / transferable . What would the coin “do” that owning the stock doesn’t ? (Companies basically already tried this with utility coins and the SEC was not happy and stopped it )

Crypto having a bad morning ! I blame this thread
I envision block chain could allow direct trading of a stock like currency without going through an intermediary.

If fiat and crypto are similar, then I'm saying the future might have instances of people wanting to go back to commodity back currencies.

Relatively liquid isn't completely liquid. Some people hate waiting for their funds to take a few days to clear.

Looks like it has had a decent pullback, which some analysts predicted before the halving. I thought it may not occur with all the ETFs. So, if you believe in it, probably a good time to buy, if you don't believe in it, good time to criticize it.

Sam Bankman-Fried got 25 years. I guess the lesson is, you still can't commit a Ponzi scheme, but if you nest it inside of a larger Ponzi scheme, your punishment will be lighter.
