I can't believe McLaren didn't qualify for the Indy 500. That is not good for them at all. I get that its a difficult track to get right with changing weather, but with the resources available and Alonso driving. How do you not get in...
Hinchcliffe also barely got in, 2nd last.
And it is sad about Lauda. But it's also amazing how long he did live after that horrific crash. RIP.
Also, I got another $10 for the trophy...but dont know who it's from. If you're initials are "GF", send me a PM!

obviously big news here, although it probably doesn't get the attention it deserves because of the political stuff that has been going on.

I honestly don't know how Zac Brown has a job.

I'm also new to F1, but not new to racing overall. I watched the last 3 races last year and all of them so far this year. My almost 3 year old son and I have been watching them together this year, which has been awesome. I let him know when race weekend is coming up and he gets all excited. He doesn't always sit down to watch the entire race, but is usually in the same room playing with his trains or what not and watches when something exciting happens.
With Monaco being such a tight track, does it give the edge to Mercedes again with their superior aero and tire management, or is it really anyone's race due to the nature of the track?

I would venture to say it is Mercedes race to lose. Their car is the full package this year and I don’t see RB having their usual aero dominance.
Then again anything can happen. Crash during qualifying, rain, a crash during the race.

I think that this sums it up well, the only thing that could stop Mercedes is something accidental.

They were calling for rain this weekend, but that looks to have passed. Monaco all comes down to qualifying and not screwing up a pit stop (cough RB cough).
Make sure you watch qualifying, it can be pretty awesome to watch them go full out through some of those blind corners.

Swimming Pool complex. Mind blowing
This is one of the only tracks where the unbelievable cornering speeds of these cars actually translates through your television. Not to be missed.

I didn’t know much about Lauda until I saw Rush, which coincidentally was one of the things that got me back into F1. That and F1 2012. I bet I logged 1000 hours on that game for 360.
Some of the stories I’ve read about Lauda are legendary.

Same here, wasn't born yet when he was still racing, but am obviously aware of him and Rush helped with that. Never good to hear when a legend passes

Could be looking at another Mercedes 1-2 in Monaco if FP2 times are any indication. That car is dominating.

Why does Monaco do FP1 + FP2 on Thursday and then nothing on Friday?? Every other race is Fri-Sun.
Crazy how much better that Merc is than every other car. Ferrari is apparently looking at changing their entire aero package for the year. Vettel was 0.8s behind in P3 after FP2. Gasly with a great P4 and Albon with the drive in P5. Both Alfa's in 8&9.
As always, a great mid field battle, 0.5sec from P3 to P13. But it's Merc's to lose.

originally the Monaco GP was always on the weekend after Ascension Day, which is a Thursday. The idea was that having training on a holiday makes it more attractive for spectators, and it also gave them the opportunity to open the streets on Friday when most of the fans arrive for the weekend.
now it's more tradition than anything else.

Bottas
Vettel
Max
Gasly
Leclerc
Raikkonen
Magnussen
Albon
Giovanazzi
