I'm just starting Rebels (literally watched the first 40 minute episode last night) so hopefully I'll have enough to hold me over until then.
Clone Wars was amazing. Might have to re-watch some of that too (I'll skip the boring arcs this time now that I know which ones they are).
Be a little patient with it, the first 3/4 of Rebels first season you'll be sitting there saying, man why am I watching a kids cartoon. Then things really kick up, the second season gets really good, the third season it matures, and the last season I loved every episode.
When I watched that Clone Wars trailer, I remember when I started the TCW series I just didn't like the animation style, but it became perfect as they darkened the environment.
People tend to forget the original clone wars cartoon which was also awesome
Full series

I had no idea that was on YouTube. I've seen parts of it but I'll have to watch it all.
Side note: gotta think the old TCW episodes will be off Netflix soon, no?

Good chance of it, its one TV series that I'm glad I bought. Once in a while its nice to rip through the series again.
There were some really good episodes in the first clone war series.
The one where Anakin faces Ventress for the first time. There was one where Anakin was exposed to his future as Vader.
It focused more on Jedi then the old Clone Soldiers, but that's what I liked about the Filoni series.
There was a book in the old legends EU, the Rise of Darth Vader which covered the change over to the Empire, what happened to the surviving Jedi.
The Jedi were heart broken when the Clone Troopers because their enemies and it hurt them to kill them when they became storm troopers.
The other great thing was how Vader went from a shattered man that was forced by Palpatine (Who's a major dick in this book, but the wheels were turning, he knew he had to complete Anakins recovery at his own Peril. There was a great chapter when Anakin was filled with self pity and loathing and Palpatine asked him why he kept on living, and Vader didn't know. Then Palpatine asked him if he was unhappy serving his master and he made Anakin realize that Palpatine was his path to power and when Palpatine was no more use he wouldn't need him anymore)
If you can find the book as a Star Wars fan its one of the best written books in the EU in my opinion. People talk about Vader being this pitiful creature that deserves sympathy, and in the beginning of the book you feel that way, but by the end you get the super powerful, fully ok with his choices Vader, and you stop feeling bad for him)

“Perhaps you’re not enjoying your new station in life, is that it?
Perhaps you tire already of executing my commands.” Sidious stared
at him. “Perhaps you think you’re better suited to occupy the throne
than I am. Is that it, Lord Vader? If so, then admit as much!”
Breathing deeply, Vader remained silent for a moment more. “I am
but an apprentice. You are the Master.”
“Interesting that you refrain from calling me your Master.”
Vader inclined his head to Sidious. “I meant nothing by it, my
Master.”
Sidious sneered. “Perhaps you wish you could strike me down, is
that it?”
“No, Master.”
“What stops you from doing so? Obi-Wan was once your Master, and
you were certainly prepared to kill him. Even if you failed.”
Vader clenched his right hand. “Obi-Wan did not understand the
power of the dark side.”
“And you do?”
“No, Master. Not yet. Not fully.”
“And that’s why you don’t try to strike me down? Because I possess
powers you lack?” Sidious lifted his arms, hands deployed like claws,
as if to summon and hurl Sith lightning. “Because you know that I
could easily overwhelm the delicate electrical systems of your suit.”
Vader stood his ground. “I don’t fear death, Master.”
Sidious grinned maliciously. “Then why go on living, my young
apprentice?”
Vader looked down at him. “To learn to become more powerful.”
Sidious lowered his hands. “Then I ask you one final time, Lord
Vader. Why not strike me down?”
“Because you are my path to power, Master,” Vader said. “Because I
need you.”
Sidious narrowed his eyes and nodded. “Just like I needed my
Master—for a time.”
“Yes, Master,” Vader said finally. “For a time.”
“Good. Very good.” Sidious smiled in satisfaction. “And now you are
ready to release your anger.
