Thought Niederatter had more value than that. He's always appeared to produce more than Rask and this year, it's not even close.
Surprised the Wild didn't get an extra pick or prospect thrown in.

Coyle and Neidereitter were on the block as early as the draft. I remember this because when we got Hanifin I watched an interview where he said Coyle was one of his best friends.
I bet Coyle is moved eventually as well.

You know...Coyle could be an interesting target.
He's been pretty good at Center for the Wild even though he's had a down year offensively and could be an interesting C3 / RW2 option here.
26 Years old, 2 years left at $3.2M.

Center vs winger. Values adjusted accordingly. And Rask was on par with Neideritter production wise until his long term injury, which he just came back from in the early part of this season.
Rask is a great add if he can get back to his pre injury level

A lot of lateral moves happening well in advance of the deadline. Wonder when the Buyer-Seller trades will start to take place. So many teams still kind of in it, makes sense for them to wait a bit, probably.

A 3rd line center for a guy producing like a 3rd line winger but has been a top 6 player for the majority of his career. I guess a change of scenery could be helpful for either. The Wild become even more boring if that is possible

I was listening the NHL radio about the trade and Ben Clymer who is an analyst for the Wild said the Nieterreiter is the definition of a perimeter player. Won't go to the dirty areas and that why he isn't scoring anymore.

I thought both of these players were doing better than they are. They're both young. Weird to see such a decline.

If I recall correctly, that was the knock on him when he was playing for NYI. They wanted him to get dirty, he wasn't willing, so they gave him no ice time and then he didn't make the team the next year. He was frustrated and they wanted no part of him anymore.

Great trade for Minny.
Rask is going to blow up now that he's away from bizzarro place that Raleigh is for scorers.

Over payment for NN, should have been a Cal type player more like Hathaway.

-Trades Lindholm because he wants too much $$ (6-yr, $4.85M per)
-Trades for Niederreiter (3 more years @ $5.25M per)
=Profit??

I recall some people making comparisons of Niedereiter to Forsberg when he was a prospect. Needless to say that didn't pan out.
He is still not a terrible player, but a little disappointing.

So, Hurricanes wouldn't pay Lindholm, but they like Nino for the rate he is making?

His year is actually on par with his norm offensively. He's ranged from 11-20 goals when he's played a full season, and 35-56 points. This year at 46 games hes at 7-22. I guess the question would be - where does he slot? I certainly like his size. He's a bit expensive for where he would play on this team.
The other thing is that Minnie just seems to be looking to replace players that don't fit, and they are still in the hunt for a PO spot. Not looking for picks. So who goes the other way? Czarnik? If you can send Neal, great.
