How far back do you have to go to find a worse bottom 9 than this?
Khaira - Nugent-Hopkins - Yamamoto
Rieder - Brodziak - Puljujarvi
Lucic - Cave - Kassian
Certainly to before the cap era.
Then you double down with this D:
Nurse - Russell
Jones - Larsson
Manning - Benning
lol

All the pressure on the Oil tonight. Flames top line had an off night last game, i expect a nice rebound game from them.
I’m just confused how the NHL has made the flames play the Oilers twice on the 3rd game of 3 in 4. This is the biggest rivalry in hockey, having to be the tired team twice vs the Oilers is just stupid.

But if you are going to play your 3rd game in 4 nights, we picked the right team to do it against.

Yup. Thanks to the Canucks' win last night, the Oilers are currently out of a playoff spot. They'll be desperate tonight for sure. Flames need to get off to a good start and grab the early lead if they can.

I like the Flames chances tonight. Tkachuk and the top line were all a little off last night and hopefully will be focused to bounce back. Hopefully Bennett and Neal can build off their last game and keep that momentum going.
Oilers typically do not win 2 games in a row and have been known to be sluggish on more than a days rest. Hopefully we can get up a couple early and get a nice win

Would love to see the Flames play globetrotter tonight, when the Oil inevitably takes this game to the trenches because they are completely outclassed in every area.
Don’t get sucked in boys, just make them pay!

This game is perfect. The Flames lead the West and the Oilers are hanging around the last playoff spot, which makes this yardstick game for the Oilers. Plus the Oilers are coming off back-to-back wins. If the Oilers even keep it close it will be full bore ahead into trading for playoff rentals with Chiarelli at the helm. What gets overlooked of course is that the Flames are on the road playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. It's the perfect con. There's no better way to convince the Oilers they have a chance than for them to be competitive tonight. The bonus? The real reason the Oilers depth players - especially Lucic - are trying harder lately is because they know that if they can shine themselves up by the trade deadline, maybe, just maybe, they will be traded out of that dumpster fire. That said, as a Flames fan, I would really appreciate an 11-0 blowout. 6-0 after 1, and then five more casual goals in the 2nd and 3rd.
Go Flames Go!
