Linebacker C.J. Mosley is expected to sign a five-year, $85 million deal with the New York Jets that has $51 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
NFL Network first reported the deal.
In a span of several hours overnight, the Jets reshaped their linebacking corps for new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, adding Mosley and Anthony Barr, who have eight Pro Bowl appearances between them. The total cost will be approximately $32 million per year.

Mosely is a beast...but seems like guys that leave the Ravens tend to underwhelm elsewhere.

Ravens getting ravaged in free agency.
Quote:
Linebacker Terrell Suggs, the longtime face of the Baltimore Ravens' defense, is leaving for a one-year, $7 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.
On Monday, Suggs told members of the Ravens that he was moving on, a source told ESPN's Jamison Hensley. One of the top leaders and characters in franchise history, he had spent his entire 16-year NFL career in Baltimore.

Not sure what the Ravens are planning on next season. Given they have a QB that can't throw the ball they will need their defense to be top of the league to be competitive. Maybe they are saving their pennies to sign Bell.

John Harbaugh is likely wondering why he signed an extension. With Lamar likely to be terrible next year, could easily be in contention for a top five pick. The Mosley contract is pretty much fine after Kwon got $13.5 million per, Mosley is a much better and consistent player. LB market is thin unlike some other positions.

In addition to Jackson, the Eagles get a seventh-round draft pick in 2020, while a 2019 sixth-round pick heads to the Buccaneers, a source told Mortensen.

Jeezuz...Baltimore is going to be a wasteland.

The Baltimore Ravens' defensive exodus continued Tuesday with a source telling ESPN's Rob Demovsky that linebacker Za'Darius Smith is heading to the Green Bay Packers.

And looks like Adrian Amos to boot. If he has the skill and is just a product of Fangio, they will have upgraded on HCD immensely
Edit: beaten

Given how badly they've been poached I would think the Ravens will go over the top for Bell with a rather stupid contract. If you're stuck with a RB as a QB, you might as well have an elite RB too so you can run for 300 yards a game.

Browns are giving former Vikings' DT Sheldon Richardson a three-year, $39 deal that includes $21.5 million guaranteed, per source.

Packers have revamped their entire defense in what seems to be the space of a couple hours.
Quote:
The #Packers are signing LB Preston Smith to a 4-year deal worth a base value of $52M, source said. He gets $16M to sign. He gets $27.5M over the first two years.
|
Quote:
LB Preston Smith, who intends to sign with the Packers when free agency officially opens at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, should be significant upgrade rushing the passer. Smith has 103 QB pressures in the past two seasons, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, ninth in the NFL and ahead of players such as Cameron Jordan (99), Calais Campbell (93) and Jadeveon Clowney (88)

The Ravens will be an interesting team to watch in 2019. They ran over teams to close out the season but the Chargers created the blueprint to shut that down and I expect teams with the Ravens on their schedule will be watching a lot of that tape. If Jackson doesn't make big strides in the off-season in regards to passing they could be a disaster especially with the talent drain on defense.

Nowhere to go but up I guess.
Dont know what I'm missing with Zadarius though. Has only played one good, full season. Aside from that has been pretty underwhelming for 3 years.
Turner is a pretty average lineman being paid quote a bit now

Sounds like Barr may back out of the deal with the Jets and re-up in Minnesota

Sounds like Saints are signing Latavius Murray to a 4 year, $14M deal. Upgrade over Ingram, but man I'm gonna miss that guy. Hope it doesn't affect the locker room too much, he's a favourite.
And shockingly it sounds like Teddy Bridgewater is going to stay in New Orleans, he passed on bigger money elsewhere reportedly. I guess he's content learning under Brees a couple more years before taking over the reigns.
Two things I didn't expect from the Saints today..
