We have to rethink Canadian QB development. But a huge part of the problem is that the leagues that develop them play in early spring (Spring league) or in the fall (Bantam, Pee wee, highschool) so we're dealing with weather considerations that push coaches away from throwing the ball a lot.
I watch a lot of football, and coach it, and its actually really un usual to see a QB throwing more them 8 or 10 times a game. Canada develops decent running backs because we run the ball a lot. We develop decent receivers because the good young receivers get thrown more to then the kid who isn't as good and ends up mostly blocking downfield.
If you think about it, lets say in Bantam that you get a good young grade 8 QB, in his two year career, he'll probably throw the ball under a 100 times. So while Noah was a good young QB, he goes in not nearly as polished as a QB that in high school throws the ball 150 times in a season, and a lot more in practice.
If you want to develop QB's then frankly I think the following has to happen.
Either move football seasons to the summer months.
Or go to 7 on 7 football in pee wee and probably bantam and have a 7 on 7 option for spring football. 7 on 7 football is almost a pure passing game.
But there's a reason why in the history of the CFL I mean in the 50 years since Jackson retired there haven't been a lot of good Canadian QB's who could be considered to be polished enough to get on a developmental track to Starting QB.
I mean Brandon Bridge is the latest maple leaf hope, but I don't think he's going to go far with the Argo's.

Well, that's no good - Huff is the best in the business at unearthing gems, though.
The Calgary Stampeders are suddenly in the market for a new defensive end.
The news landed Monday as Folarin Orimolade, the front runner to replace Ja’Gared Davis this year on the defensive line, will undergo surgery to repair a torn muscle in his quadriceps. The 23-year-old suffered the injury on the second play of Friday’s pre-season clash against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Yeah that is not what you want to hear.
The recovery time on that is 4 months or more.

Anybody interested in CFL Fantasy Football on TSN?
Here is a link to a league we can use if there is any interest. I played last year and had a great time, it kept me watching and paying attention to games and players I never would have otherwise.
https://fantasy-api.cfl.ca/en/league...8-276f2d557079
Its a weekly $ draft type set up and just for fun. No $$ involved.

I would do it i think...but interest here may be hard to generate. Mind you it has to be oodles less time than playing NFL fantasy.
Also, that link isnt working.

Maybe I will start a new tread after the BC game this weekend.
It does take way less time. I usually set my roster in 5 minutes and its done for the week.
Maybe this link will work?

Galloway looks like he's going to be a really good player.

Jackson, Williams, Morris and Galloway are all the same type of small, fast, scamper backs. Carey and Holmes are more straight forward, down hill, power backs. And that doesnt even account for Litre, who they seem intent to give some reps to as well.
The Stamps could stock 2 CFL rosters with all the RB and WR talent they still have in camp right now.
