Canadians dont have voting down all that much better
Very well, if the poll of the largest consumers of pizza in the world wont suit you nor the opinions of people of pizza's birthplace, how about food authority figures?
Such as this noteworthy Englishman
While hosting the late-night British talk show “The Nightly Show,” Ramsay ordered a pizza on TV and turned to the audience for suggestions on toppings.
When one person volunteered “pineapples,” Ramsay was forced to put his call on a brief hold.
“You don’t put ####ing pineapple on pizza,” the chef said, while covering the phone’s microphone. Then, he returned back to the order like a true professional.
“So, 10 pepperoni, 10 margherita ― and no pineapple anywhere,” Ramsay told the order taker. Toward the end of the call, Ramsay looked out to the audience once more to ask the pro-pineapple person, “What the #### are you doing?”

Well, if you're telling me that Gordon Ramsay doesn't like pineapple on pizza, then congrats, you've successfully convinced me that Mr Ramsay has a fundamentally flawed palette

I heard the Pope and the Queen and Obama and Tom Hanks have a phone call every week to discuss just how "toothsome" and "refined" and "amazeballs" Hawaiian pizza is, it's true. You can't argue with that.

Not a huge fan of pineapple on pizza, but on some occasions, a Hawaiian pizza is perfectly edible.
BBQ chicken pizza, however, can f*** right off. It's probably the worst invention known to mankind.
Pardon?
I find the hatred of toppings hilarious. Hawaiian and BBQ Chicken pizzas are staples in most pizza places or restaurants. I know, just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good, but have you ever thought that you're just wrong on this one?
I've tried so many pizzas with odd toppings over the years. Rarely am I disappointed. Wanna know why? It's still pizza! Pizza is pretty hard to screw up.
If you can get past the conception that pizza has to have tomato sauce or traditional toppings, you would be surprised at the flavor combinations you can get.
Just the other day, we ordered a specialty pie from a place that starts with a sesame seed crust, the base sauce is pesto, and then it has portobello mushrooms, walnuts, and gorgonzola cheese. ####ing delicious, despite the topping selection being quite strange. Experimentation is a good thing.
I guess all I'm saying is that people should expand their palates a little, otherwise they might miss out on some great food.
Also, anchovies on pizza are great. Honestly, you should try it sometime. I hope people are aware that a traditional Caesar salad dressing has anchovies in it. There's a lot of funk and salt that gets added from ingredients like that, and it gives a really unique flavor that can be a little addictive.

Same. I do find it amusing, and think it's puffed up some. I can't help but think of that scene from The Matrix Reloaded:
Commander Lock: Dammit, Morpheus. Not everyone believes what you believe.
Morpheus: My beliefs do not require them to.
Though, I'm with that poster earlier who expressed frustration at those 1-2 people who insist that a Vegetarian pizza has to be ordered, and then at the end of the night, its only had 1 slice (if that) eaten from it. Took up a space that an actually edible pizza that people will eat could have been in!
A pizza is basically a sandwich. Bread, sauce of some sort, cheese, meat, veggies. You can put whatever you want on a sandwich and no one gets upset. Why is pizza so special? And don't bring the Italians into this.

I feel like people who hate pineapple on pizza are people who have had canned pineapple on pizza. When pineapple is fresh it's so damn good. I used to hate pineapple simply because of crappy BP style canned pineapple on pizza and once I had it fresh I changed my tune.
I voted for every single pizza with pineapple on it.

Sandwich is an individual food, pizza is a communal food and the toppings must be agreed upon by all participants. The right pizza can unite a group with a shared joyful experience, or plant the seeds of dissent with treacherous pineapple. It speaks to our inner tribal nature and as such, the stakes are significantly higher.

Well your first mistake is sharing your pizza.
