Thought they weren’t going to announce anything during the Stanley Cup Finals for fear of upstaging (LOL) the big games. But here they are the day after game 1. Hey everyone, look at us, look at us!!! We’re still relevant!! Nope, they are pathetic!!

Maybe it's just me, but I actually think Tippett's a pretty good coach. Back when B.Sutter was hired, it was Tippett I was hoping we would get instead.

Still, Edmonton doesn't seem to have the personnel to pull off his style of play. Put him on a team with strong defensive players and I think you'd see them succeed. Put him with....the Oilers, and he'll quickly learn there's something in the water.

I don't think it's a bad hire but Todd McLellan (.594 career coaching record) and Hitchcock (.599 career coaching record) failed with this roster so Tippet and his .563 career coaching record has a lot of work to do. There's only so much you can do when the roster is so thin with quality depth so maybe they could overachieve for a season but long term it's not going to get better until they can overhaul a large portion of the roster.

I hope the boys remember the 'Swarm Defence' because they're going to use a lot of it.

Likely lined up to Kostinem's left.

What's sad is that he's the 3rd best player on their roster and they have wasted 5 of the 7 years of his current contract so they are looking at losing their 3rd best player to free agency in two years which doesn't help when your team is already lacking in depth.

Oh sweet summer child...

They havent wasted 5 of his 7 years, they just only have two more lotteries to win.

Tippett is by no means a bad coach, but there are few coaches that fit worse with what they've been 'building'. McDangles certainly has the ability to play defence, but will he? Can Leon?

No doubt we're about to hear a lot about how incredible they are, and I wish for once anyone but Tim & Sid will call this what it is. Nothing will have been proven on May 28, 2019 to anyone at all and no one would let the Browns yammer on like we know they will without a public (and hilarious) roasting. Yet, I wouldn't risk a drinking game around the lunacy we're going to hear.

They're a dumpy ass team who likely just hired a good coach that will regret today. Tippett is knowingly embarking on a long journey through the mire of their incompetence and lofty expectations. Just, for once, hire someone and let them prove a thing before talking about the next Championship.

Preemptively, as we all know what quotes are coming...
Put up or shut up. For ####ing once.

The list executives the Oilers are going to go through during RNH's tenure is going to look like the Red Wedding.

Did they install turnstyles at Roger's Place?
