Dallas makes major mid-season adjustments.
Defending CPHL champion Dallas Stars have sputtered this season. Often streaky, winning 4 then dropping 4 and carrying a bizarre 10-1-3 home record yet only a 4-9-1 road record have led to the Stars yoyoing in the standings, where they are now a bubble playoff team. With numerous major injuries (Guentzel 2M, Hertl 1M, Spurgeon 1M) this season, the Stars depth was an issue. GM Pittman needed to decide, do we fold up tent and go “Full Islanders” or double down and see if we can get this team into the playoffs and on a run. No sooner were the words “Full Islanders” uttered then was a decisive decision made – go for it.
Over the past 2 weeks Dallas has completed several deals with the result being the addition of 6 highly rated CPHL assets while only subtracting 2 CPHL level assets. The farm team, however, has been reduced to near rubble.
