I just think that looking at the larger picture we have a great team, brand new state of the art stadium, have had CL football for the past few years and we still get dogged by rumours that all the best players are going to want to leave. it's the general "Poch can't win a trophy" followed by "we really want him at United because he's amazing". Who knows. I think that things look bad for us now, but somehow hope we can muddle through.
Well if you're not in CL next year it's because you didn't spend to bolster the squad in the summer/winter.e next few weeks. Poch has unquestionably overachieved, but at some point he will wonder if he's taken Spurs as far as he can in the current environment and moves on to bigger and better.

I was more thinking you spread that out over at least two positions. You're not getting a like for like replacement for that kind of cash but you should be able to do better than Llorente.

there's always loans. Chelsea get Higuain on loan, KP Boateng was just loaned to Barca ... so it's possible.

Yeah, I really think that in a lot of ways that's a media construct. They want signings so they have something to report on, whether they like the signings or not. But the truth is that Spurs had (or maybe have?) more points at this point in the season than they've had since 1961.

And it's kind of laughable to think that most teams could survive unscathed when you're losing all your top players to injury. Even City (who arguably has the most depth of any club in the world) would be in rough shape with the loss of players like Kane/Alli/Son nevermind still have Sissoko/Wanyama out and Dier just back from injury. It's great to say "you should have bought some players", but it's going to catch-up with you at some point.

Spurs down 2-0 at halftime against Chelsea. Things don't look good.

So away goals don't count, and it will go straight to penalties if this ends 2-2 on aggregate? Weird.

Glad Chelsea were able to get through this even without Higuain.

Not sure if they can beat City again though.

that goal shortly before half-time really pisses me off. Gets them right back into the game ... unnecessary.

8 out of 8 now. So happy for Solskjaer, nobody could have expected this. Just look at Thierry Henry right now - great players more often than not struggle as managers, and I would have been sad if he had come back to United and failed.

United were shaky on the right-hand side defensively, it was too easy for Arsenal to find space there. But absolutely clinical up front again and obviously being able to bring on Martial and Rashford after 75 in such a game is awesome.

Because as soon as they do that we don’t have to hear about how Poch is their main target and all that.
