In Golden, we like the town and its better for the offseasons and long term rentals. We enjoy the walk to the downtown etc and we just bike to Mt 7 and CBT networks from our place.

As for the real estate, it was also a bit of banking on the highway project investment a few years ago. The new condos that are being built by the brewery(and sold out) are essentially double what we paid for the same or less sq ft. They do qualify for AirBnB, but, in general I am very happy!

Probably can't get that much work done in the gondola line

Fermie is too far south, short season with a lot of rain. Of the mountain towns I like Revelstoke the best, the town is really nice and the layout is much better then the Resort in Golden.

The last time I skied in Golden, you had to ski too far down into the wet and poor snow to go back up. They seemed to lack a good mid mountain lift. It was certainly fun, just not as much fun as Revelstoke.

Yeah, I changed my mind on the MC pass, and bought a Big3.

I was comparing the same thing and in the end I went the other way and bought the MC Pass. Based on my math, skiing between LL, Sunshine and Revy, the break even was 26 days (12 LL, 12 Sunshine and 2 Revy). Anything less than that and, for me, MC pass was less $ out the door.

We bought Nakiska passes again for the family. We had said last year would be the last at that hill, but somehow my wife pulled some type of Jedi Mind Trick on the place and we got a family pass for $200. A deal I can't pass up.

Yeah, I hear ya. Past few seasons, I had similar numbers + Niseko. Also, didn’t like being confined to a single resort(s), and appreciated the flexibility of chasing the pow.

This season though, is a bit different (for me)
* many more days available to shred for me, vs seasons past (2-3x)
* won’t go international, yet will still redeem 50% off at Pano/Revy, even Sun Peaks, although I probably won’t go to SP.
* in the event of restricted access, based upon the Vail model, season pass holders have first access rights.

I thought I'd update this as we've helped out a lot of CP'ers in the past.
Sports Rent is doing the Oct special again for ski and Board tunes, only $30.
Also, we have Seasonal Junior Ski rentals for $200-$225. Skis/boots, or skis/boots/poles.
If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Remove this if it's not appropriate also.

Crappy, just dropped four boards off for a tune somewhere else yesterday. Paying exactly 50% more than that.

I always do my own tuning, but I'm not sure I've been sharpening our wavy-edged boards very well. Since my board is a few years old I thought it would be a good time for the pros to bring it back to perfect.

I bring mine to Sports Rent every year for this sweet deal. It's nice to get a proper grind done, which I can't do at home. Then I tune up as needed through the year.
