Default Let’s talk about Walker “Frickin” Duehr

He has been one of the few good stories for the Flames this season and I hope he gets more ice time and plays regularly for the rest of the season

Should be a solid bottom six guy going forward for this team, and a guy who can become a fan favourite.

That's the role I'd hoped he could eventually fill. We've lacked a good energy guy on the 4th line ever since Hath left. Duehr has been excellent in his short NHL career so far.

I said it a few games ago, but I believe he has another level to his game still. With some skating practice over the summer he could be up there in the league with his north south speed. I hope next year he's a full time player.

I still remember seeing him in pre-season two years ago and I thought to myself, "This guy's an NHler". He just had so much to his game that was already at a pro level. Needed to work on systems play and build his confidence, but it looks like he's arrived. Nothing is certain, but I'd be penciling him in to take one of the spots vacated by Lewis and Lucic in the bottom 6.

Thought he was the best Flame at the prospect’s tournament in Penticton in September. He stood out with his size and speed. Been pleasantly surprised at his hands and finish in the NHL. I think we can slot him into our bottom six for the next couple of seasons.

I hope he's in full time next year and score 20 goals!

Lol that means we’d have a 10.5M bottom 6 player

Love that Walker Duehr !

Can't help think of this classic tune for his goal song. We may hear it a lot.

He’s not the agitator that Hathaway is – at least not yet. Would be good to see him add that to his game if he can.

But he can skate, he can dig, and he’s not bad with the puck. Massive upgrade on the fourth line we had most of the season. Hope he sticks around next year (UFA I believe?)

He's more impactful than the two guys we signed last summer. And consistently so.

Love to see it.

Say what you want about Sutter. But these are the type of players he is good at developing. He will bench/healthy scratch them here and there to keep them hungry so they learn that they have to keep that high energy game to stay in the line up.

His skating and skill set looks better than Hathaway to me, He reminds of a Glencross type player who seems to play better with the nhl structure than anywhere else. he could be a 20/50 point guy with the right line mates.
