Brodie for picks
Frolik for picks
Buyout or Demote Stone

Ferland 4 x 3.5
Williams 1 x 2 + 2 in bonuses

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Williams
Bennett - Backlund - Neal
Mangiapane - Dube - Ryan

Giordano - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Valimaki - Yelesin
Kylington

Rittich
Talbot
I can see the Habs shifting focus to Brodie once the Canes officially match the Aho offer sheet. They might even take Frolik in the deal as well?

Yes, we have identified the gap in the Flames lineup.

You claimed that the team brought this up to Treliving and he has ignored them... I’m calling BS on that statement.

But yeah, we need to be harder to play against.

This whole "growing internally" BS does not mean anything. I would bet anything that guys like Gaudreau, Monahan, Backlund, Jankowski are not going to come back next season all of a sudden being tough to play against. They needed to bring in players who give a #### and have another gear..even Frolik recognized that.
I don't think it is an unreasonable expectation at all. It was a five-game series in which the Flames looked surprised by how things went, and by the outcome. It seems like a decent gamble to me that the second best team in the NHL last year should be counted upon to be in contention for the Division, and to take another step and find another level in the playoffs the next time around. Sometimes it takes players a while to figure it out.

Dzingle was a healthy scratch in the playoffs because he wouldn't go to the difficult areas.

I get everyone's need to add a shiny new toy when everyone else got a shiny new toy....but staying pat is better than a dumb contract today. The 2nd best team in the league with room to grow from internal improvement does not need to add for the point of adding. We have our picks as currency and we have next offseasons. A bit of patience for the right deals will go a long way for keeping this window wide open.

I never claimed that all. I was referring to management as "team"... so basically saying that everyone (management and players) recognize the Flames need to be tougher to play against. I could have been clearer.

Yeah, you might be right but our players aren't necessarily built that way. To me, tougher to play against means being able to hit the opposing team and changing the momentum of the game. I just dont think the current team has that element and they need a few more players who can play physical and score. The current team can definitely learn from this past season but I don't think Gaudreau is hitting anyone anytime soon.

Sure, but arent the Flames strapped for cap next off-season too with RFA contracts for Andersson, Kylington, and Valimaki.

Andersson, Kylington and Jankowski will need new deals, also have Brodie, Hamonic, Stone, Frolik, Czarnik, Quine, and Talbot that will need to be re-signed/replaced. So not quite the crunch we have this year but not exactly swimming for space either, unless they do still move Frolik and Brodie this summer. Ideally next year Andersson, Valimaki and Kylington are all ready for bigger roles and they just re-sign Hamonic and leave the D alone other than signing a #7

Or they overachieved in the regular season with a flawed roster that was exposed in the playoffs.

Question to sureLoss:
Do you know why players' no-trade lists aren't made public? What's the harm in having them known to general public? Is there a specific provision in CBA that specifically protects this privacy?

All the more reason not to lock into a Dzingle for the next 3-5 years...

So with the knowledge Brodie can be in on a swap for someone of Kadri’s caliber what other teams can use a Brodie and what player could be targeted in return?

Brodie + for Gallagher?
Brodie + for Ehlers?
Brodie for Stastny?
Brodie + for Brayden Schenn?

Who are you guys thinking?

nothing in the CBA I am aware of.

But most likely it is to protect the player's privacy and not having to be pestered by questions by fans and media of why a certain team is or isn't on a list.

Sure, I can agree to that. Then, at what point should the Flames blow it up if this core continues to struggle and there is no cap space to improve? Another first round exit? 3 more first round exits?

That's what I thought as well. But then it makes little sense. Seems like all of the TV commentators, all hockey bloggers and all other "in the know" guys on Twitter know (or pretend to know) those lists for every player. So, either players' agents and some people in teams' front offices leak that information to media on purpose or it's not much of a guarded secret... Strange.
