I hope Pattison doesnt' eff up Batman. Tried watching Twilight for the first time last week and couldn't get past an hour of it. What garbage acting.
I wouldn't judge anyone based on their performances in Twilight. Everyone knew those movies would be hits without trying, so nobody tried. Many of the people working on it developed nothing but contempt for its fanbase.
I guess there is something wrong with me cuz I'm not seeing anything so extraordinary in that trailer. At least not enough for the permaboner Cecil is sporting.
It is moody I guess?
I'll be seeing the movie regardless so they already have me. A comic book nerd at heart.
What I like about it the trailer is that it seems story focused. There are so many great comic book stories, but when they adapt them into film it always breaks down into CGI fest/origin story/trope for the most generic possible fan.
This could be a good byproduct of the DCEU stumbling. Perhaps they'll reserve the roller coaster ride for the DCEU and focus on story telling for these side projects.
Looks like they're rebooting the DC animated universe. Love the change in animation style. It's already available for streaming and in other nefarious places.
That’s certainly not the movie to judge him on. Good Times, The Lighthouse, the Rover, Lost City of Z, Cosmopolis, all much better choices.
He’s also getting good reviews for his role in Tenet.
I have respect for Robert Pattinson because he has no respect for the Twilight movies.
They garnered him fame and fortune but he openly admits that it was a garbage job that came with a ton of publicity and an easy cheque and was a good career springboard.
I can respect that.

I love Bale's reaction to being asked about Pattison's casting, comment at 44 second mark.

And Keaton! People hated him when announced and he was great.
Then when the trailer came out, the internet didn’t exist yet so hardcore fans were paying their $6 for a ticket to some random show just to see the trailer and then leaving.

I've been to about 25 movies during Covid. They're completely dead for the most part. You have a higher chance of getting Covid picking up the mail then at a movie theatre. I go with my girlfriend, my friends and his kids. None of us have had any concerns. It's even better basically having theatres all to ourselves.
I saw Tenet tonight as well. Really enjoyed it. Wasn't one of Nolan's best works in a sense. But I love conceptualizations like that. The more you take it in the more it comes together. Really another puzzle I pieces together as the movie went along. Loved getting back into the theatre to see a movie like that. You just can't get the movie going experience sitting at home .
Unfortunately if it means seeing it in a theatre there’s zero chance I see it.
Not unless I get a fully sanitized theatre to myself. But now you have me curious, how many CPers will return to the theatre and when?
For me it’s largely location based, no mandatory masks here. No chance I lock myself in a Covid box for 2.5 hrs.
Living in Chilliwack provides a stronger sense of isolation. We're a small city without a great public transit system and a low population-density, and we are 35 km from the thriving metropolis of Abbotsford. People here remain fairly casual to wearing masks so far, but that is definitely changing pretty quickly.
The theatre was virtually empty yesterday. I went with my son, and there were only about 20 tickets for sale inside a 300-seat theatre. The closest people to us were either a dozen seats away, or five rows forward or back. Masks were provided for everyone without them.

So....did you see the only other people in theatre and sit directly behind them?
And then start quietly coughing??

I think this was especially true for Tenet. It was easily the loudest movie I have seen since maybe Aliens(?) The intensity and Nolan's signature relentless building made it an incredible theatre experience.
