Oiler fans could use that same logic and say they have the greatest organization in the NHL if you start the timer early enough.
What you've put forth is a standard whereby it's literally impossible to make a case that an organization has underperformed and underdelivered.
If it has done anything of significant note at any point in its history, just roll back the timer to start before that thing happened. If it hasn't done anything of significant note, it's because it hasn't been around for that long and you 'just gotta give it more time'.
And if all else fails, hey, "at least we're not the worst".
The Flames have won 4 total series in the past 3 decades. That's simply a fact and there's no way around it. It stinks.
Did the Flames have some results prior to 1990? Yes, they did. But as already mentioned, many of us are too young to have any recollection of those years.
