Default Daddy Mac Baby...

Breaking News - San Jose, California

In the words of one half of the super rap group Kris Kross;

"The Mac Dad'll make ya (Jump jump)..."

And so he did in the 2019-20 playoffs where Mac Daddy Nathan MacKinnon of the Wild went off on the Sharks in Game 6 scoring 2 goals, 3 assists for a total of 5 points and a +3 rating. Mac Daddy was dominant and the Sharks simply didn't have an answer.

Fast forward a month and a half later and Nathan MacKinnon is indeed a member of the Sharks organization:

Trade Breakdown:

To San Jose
Nathan MacKinnon
Alexander Nylander

To Minnesota:
Patrick Laine
Dylan Cozens

The Sharks have been very consistent in recent years and a regular playoff team but often have difficulty making it past the first round. Instead of going into the 2020-21 season status quo, GM MJK decided changes were required to try and get this team to the next level.

Gone is long time core Dman OEL and stud muffin Jamie Benn who the Sharks leaned on. In are new faces like Kris Letang, Jacob Voracek and now Mac Daddy himself, Mr. MacKinnon.

With guys like Stamkos and Jacob Trouba already a fixture, the Sharks look to be an improved team but it comes at a cost. The cost was uber prospect Dylan Cozens and a very valuable 2021 1st round pick.

"To get better and obtain high end players, it is quite costly. We decided our time was now to get better immediately to try and win a cup. We have only been to the finals once since I joined this franchise and our fans deserve more" said MJK.

The Sharks don't look to be done quite yet and will certainly be active as the off-season progresses. There a still many questions to be answered...
