Just imagine for a second if the student was killed, I'm thinking at least 2 weeks before it's forgotten.

“We shouldn’t arm teachers” Yes, someone who gets it.

“Because” That’s it, Alabama Lawmaker, show the steady hand of justice and hit ‘em with reasoning they can’t deny.

“Most are women.” Damnit.

Why, otherwise it might never be fired! What a waste of taxpayer dollars that would be!

You mean the bit where they kept a loaded handgun in a drawer next to their bed in easy reach of their kids, that kind of stupidity is hard to comprehend.

The resource officer engaged the shooter and killed him before he could do much damage. The shooter injured two kids and it sounds like they will live.

Yep. Prepare for the pro gun guys argument now. Crazy to hear that it is the 17 school shooting since January 1. An average of about 1.5 per week.

I think that number was a bit skewed. It includes shots fired that aren't really what we consider school shootings. I think a guy committed suicide in the parking lot of a long closed school for example. But still, you're right about this giving gun nuts an ear prick.

We're at the point that I'm "relieved" that only 2 kids were shot in a high school.

Any news of what kind of weapon this shooter had? If I had to guess based on the only two people being hit that it was probably not a high capacity rife.
