Why do all those people dress like city construction people at the game? Do they think that’s what a roughie looks like?

tough 1st half but give them credit for their 2nd half. they played with a lot of intensity and pride. we sure could use a guy like # 77 on the Rush. ha

I think they take the train to the games, so it's probably to protect them from whatever is on those seats.

Riggers stun the Rock in Toronto
Didn’t see that coming
Second straight game that Digby has been healthy scratched
Del Bianco got the start over big Frank
Huge win with the Stealth losing

Thought it was a solid game by the Necks. Really showed off our offensive weapons, couple of spectacular goals by Dobbie and always happy to see Cattoni and Loewen chipping in. Del Bianco was unconscious on a couple of those saves. (Fun fact my wife reminded me of last night - Nick Rose was once a Rigger. Can you imagine having him in a tandem now?)

Great game to watch, good level of action. Hope they keep it up next weekend at home.

I know technically there isn't enough bandwidth, but we watched the Roughnecks streaming on NLLTV followed by the Flames game on the projector last night and the video and production quality of the NLL product is never going to bring in new fans. Ever. It continues to baffle me that with TSN having 5 channels and next to no hockey to put on them the NLL can't come up with a broadcast deal.

And while I am dreaming, I would pay to watch a decent broadcast of MLL games too.

The challenge with lacrosse is much like hockey the production costs are high
But unlike hockey it doesn’t bring the viewers
That’s the main stumbling block in getting a big tv deal

Like so many things, chicken and egg problem. Sub-par production won't bring in more viewers, can't improve product without viewers. Don't get me wrong, I think the camera work and commentating are decent, I just wish the quality of the picture was higher. HD has spoiled us all.

Government subsidy is the only answer. It is our national game after all.

what a turnaround the last 2 weeks, Del Bianco seems to have given them a spark. Dickson and Dobbie are playing like they should after being invisible for the first 4 or 5 games. Nice effort. Dan Macrae was a beast out there tonight

Del Bianco is the most athletic goalie I’ve ever seen and wildly entertaining
If he can learn his angles a bit better he will be a franchise elite net minder
His post to post speed and reactions are elite already

Game was against the Stealth but Calgary sure looked good with the transition and they seem to have been sparked by CDB in net.... Dickson is back looking good and Cattoni looked great.

Just a head's up that the Roughnecks game on St Patrick's day has a lot of promos going on. Use the code TENYR (for example, there are others out there) to get a $22.50 ticket which includes a voucher for a burger/pizza and a beverage. I think you need to be there before 5:30 for that. But there is the $5 happy hour from 5:30 on.

Just dropped a line to the Roughnecks about what a jackass "Red Dawg" was on Twitter in the aftermath of the Humboldt tragedy. He was calling out the Rush for being "sleazy" for changing their name to #prayforhumboldt and then having the gall to tweet game scores. Also aggressively challenged them that they weren't doing enough why weren't they donating their 50/50. Just generally being an enormous #######. I think the 'necks need to cut ties with this guy, between this and other past bad behaviour he seems like a bit of a wingnut.

On more positive news, playoff spot clinched although I will be surprised to see any home playoff games with the new format. Lost a close one to Black Wolves yesterday and have generally been playing a ton better of late.

Not really Roughnecks related, but no sense starting another lacrosse thread. The current impasse between CLA and the national team is such crap http://www.insidelacrosse.com/articl...n-israel/52150

It already sucks that worlds moved from England to Israel at the last minute (was planning on attending in England), now there is a risk that Canada won't even be there to contest for its national sport. The CLA board is completely dysfunctional and needs to be changed out in my opinion.

A lot of this stems back to CLA getting wrapped up in a fraudulent tax scheme with fake receipts and losing their charitable status. Has made it very tough to raise money at the national level. https://www.thepeterboroughexaminer....y-status-back/

Yeah, I realize this is a bit of a low profile problem in a less popular sport. But the last world's four years ago in Denver was some amazing lacrosse. A real showcase of how great the game can be played. Having no Canadian national team isn't good for Canadian lacrosse or for the growth of the game internationally.
