^ I don't even think the developer was this optimistic about getting going EAP 2. Downtown office space absorption has been nothing short of astonishing over the past 18 months or so. Highest absoption rates in Calgary's history.
Heck, I even remember when EAP I broke ground there, were a lot of people that thought it would never rise above grade. They started with zero tenants signed at the very tail end of an office development boom that produced about 6 million square feet of new space downtown.

Given the history of the East Village, it's exciting to think this is what the near futuer of that community looks like:
CMLC is doing an outstanding job.

^Ah I came here to post that. This is one of 7 buildings that this particular developer (Bosa Embassy) has planned in the East Village. That's just one developer too. It's been a long time coming.

New Renderings
A small peek at "Herald Square," new office tower at 1st Street/7th Ave. SW. Would be among the tallest in Calgary. Shorter than the Bow, but might be taller than Eighth Avenue Place and Suncor Energy Centre.
"Tribeca" in Mission, proposal just east of the intersection of 4th Street and 20th Ave. SW:
"Uno," currently under construction:

I wonder if the name Herald Square bares any meaning.
Former site of Calgary Herald? Post Media moving their head office here? Silver Surfer's new home?

Don't hold your breath, we are most likely getting a big glass box. The hope is that the quality and materials are good enough that it will look pretty sharp.

Anyone know what's the plan for this:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl nevermind, my map didn't work .
1605 17 ST SE. An old industrial looking building, vacant, totally fenced off between 17th Ave and 17th Street SE, sandwiched between 17th st and the train tracks? They've recently bulldozed the building.

Thanks - a quick search yielded some odd page that said a apartment building permit was issued back in 2009. Thought it could be old and cancelled. Or that I could have found new information.
