I haven’t seen that commitment anywhere. But with the upcoming layoffs and wind down of operations I think the sale/pull out of upstream stuff for Shell is inevitable.

I went back to read the press release and see where I misinterpreted it

https://www.shell.ca/en_ca/media/new...ng-canada.html

They say each part has to supply their own gas and that shells NE BC field can supply gas or they will purchase from market. I did not remember reading the or.

It would be interesting that they would believe that they can get better value on the open market than from their own investment.

Well I mean station 2 gas was selling for negative $1.66 yesterday.. Not exactly the most lucrative market right now.

That should mitigate as soon as the LNG terminal is running and would provide long term hedging. On the oil side the integrated companies have been much more stable than the pure up down or mid companies.

Tag line on license plates should be:

Alberta. It’s over.

No reason to expect the US to help us. Really sad that we can't build one in Canada.

As long as they dont get away from you. Those sneaky trains....always wandering off...

The Transportation Safety Board is looking into an incident in which 80 unmanned freight cars rolled more than 200 metres at Calgary’s Alyth train yard.

Chris Krepski, spokesperson for the board, said 68 of the 80 cars had a full load when the train began rolling down the track at the Canadian Pacific Railway yard in the southeast.

Not only will my tanker cars be sneaky they will be stealthy. The NIMBY protesters won't ever see them coming.

We should just get the Boring Company to dig a deep hole from Alberta to the Alaskan Coast and feed 10 pipelines through there.

There isn't any capacity left for rail transport unless more track is laid, which is about as likely as getting a pipeline approved.

All this nonsense makes me wish we had our version of Putin. Pipeline would be built at night time, protesters end up missing and the oil would be flowing in no time

This was briefly mentioned in the Alberta Politics thread but is more appropriate here I think. Looks like the old Heartland Upgrader is being resurrected in a slightly different form. $400 million loan guarantee from the Provincial government to help make it happen.

Has the Alberta government even said anything about the rail purchase. I mean Notley said that they were moving on this right away. But its gone kind of quiet.
