I'd be curious to see how that balances out against lost revenue, renting Wembley etc.
But this delay seems like a strange one. Not as if they were behind but almost like they were finished only to realize they had forgotten about a significant component of the building.
So close to being like the aussies the FA hired to do wembley

Source on any of that?

they'll appoint a caretaker in the next days, then hire a director of football and find a permanent manager in the summer.

they'll certainly target Poch.

obviously not right now, but they'd be beyond stupid if they didn't try everything in the summer.

Yeah, we all know they're going to try and the rumours have already started. Realistically though, Spurs are on their way to the quadruple at this point! (settle down...I'm somewhat joking)

Jardim seems to be the name I've seen suggested a number of times. Here's hoping it's Wenger though!

my guess is Solskjaer or Blanc for the interim. Paul Mitchell is probably a strong candidate for the DoF appointment.

In the end with hindsight they probably should have just let Van Gaal run out his contract. Maybe they'd still be a good ways behind Liverpool and City, but they'd probably at least have a younger team. Certainly would seem like they'll go for broke and try to get Poch, but unless they're offering him a blank cheque for transfers to turn it around, seems like a bad career move, save the doubling of his salary. As for Mourinho you'd have to think it's international football for a while, surely no big club is gonna let him take control given how his last few years have gone.

I can't see why Poch would want to leave for United? I get that he could make more money, but realistically Spurs are the biggest club in London, on the verge of opening what is roundly regarded as a magnificent new stadium and he manages a young and exciting squad with one of the best strikers in the world among others. And frankly, he's not being paid poorly at this point.

So what could United offer otherwise? Why would he be pulled there as opposed to a PSG or Madrid? I get that United and their supporters want him, but honestly, so what?

Oh little brother syndrome lol. You'll never be bigger than Arsenal, maybe one day you can challenge Chelsea, but even that's a stretch. Just be happy to be the most stable club in London, that actually isn't a bad thing.

Aww...well, it was fun while it lasted and its always nice to see United fire their manager on the back of a sound ass-kicking by Liverpool.

Whats David Moyes up to these days?

I kind of feel like they were drawing up his release papers when Fellaini came on at halftime.

You can’t be serious.

Their following is but a fraction of the big two. Draw less too. Won less trophies, less prestige, and have dramatically less recent successes than the other two.

But I must ask, why do you think otherwise? Their stadium will top the town by a thousand seats?

That's just a stupid statement.
Never nice to see the opposition fire a crap manager. Silly silly statement. Hang your head in shame at its sillyness.

But not on the same level as this.

No. You've nearly got the newest stadium in London. That's it.
