I would be really bothered by seeing Iginla in an Oiler jersey.
I'm in the camp that would take him back on the Flames for a year for the right deal, and I know that not everyone here agrees with that, but I think we can all agree how awful it would be to see him skating in that crummy Coiler outfit.

I want iginla here for more than just nostalgia or because I'm a fan... I want him on the team because I believe he could help make this team better. Leadership, grit, league respect, depth scoring, a powerplay one-timer; an option on pretty much any line... these are all legit reasons to bring him back in my mind.
On top of that... I believe he would bring an immediate energy to the fan base. Something that can be lacking sometimes in Calgary. This team needs momentum to start the season strong. I think it has so much potential to take a big step this season. Having the city and team buzzing to start the year would be a huge boost. Iggy will help with that.
Hearing a "gaudreau to iginla... iginla scores!" play-by-play announcement would give me goosebumps.

I have a source that says that the Flames have given Jarome a bona fide offer, and that Jarome is mulling over some of the conditions. Apparently one of the conditions is that before every game, Jarome must play "When the Saints Go Marching In", and that doesn't sit well with him. He is countering the offer with a rendition of "Take Me Out To the Ball Game", but Burke being a traditionalist feels that this is not an appropriate hockey song. And yes, for the few who can't discern a joke beyond Knock Knock, this is really just a joke.

I remember being so excited when Theo scored the shootout goal to give the Flames the win in Exhibition, September '09 (and I HATE the shootout!).
I can't imagine how excited I would be to see something similar from Iggy.
Theo of course didn't make it, but I really feel like Iggy has more to give. If it's not with us then so be it, but just please not with the Oilers. Or Canucks. Anywhere else I can live with.

I also think Iggy would get a huge boost from the fans and returning home to Calgary. Every game he played against the flames in the dome since he left he's been one of the best players on the ice even if the team he was playing for didn't play well. When he's playing to price something these days he's a beast.
