Wow SOB out back to back games.. Surprising but I guess Smid adds the roughness which was the only good thing SOB brought to the game?
Jackman out too, hopefully we actually capitalize on this lineup today..
Otherwise Jackman back in soon and Sven/Backlund out etc..

Due to improper strength training we lose 4-1.

Would like to see how Monahan Baertschi Backlund would do with Backs on the wing or something..

I love him but, I'd move him down too and give someone else a chance after last game as well. Hopefully one of the two(Colborne or Backlund) take advantage of their opportunity.

I agree with Yoho - I want to see one of Colborne or Backlund lay claim to that #2 spot. They've both been shuffled in and out of it recently without much success.
Hope we don't face Lehtonen.

4-2 win for the good guys. The new Dallas logo is still horrible.
It seems my reading between the lines from Feaster interview was about right. Smid was brought in pretty much to push SOB out of the lineup.
Backlund has been getting some shifts with better players every game, he'll probably get them tonight too. Don't stare at the starting lineups too much.

he's done little to deserve it in my opinion. may be that colborne/monahan/stajan have just done more to justify/deserve better opportunities.
i feel backlund's been a bit invisible. Last game he started with skilled linemates, but that line was arguably hemmed in more than any other line (though this might be due to the line they were facing from the sharks).
anyways, the flames next 4 games are against teams that will be playing the 2nd of back to backs. Hoping to see them play hard and hopefully get some decent results against some fatigued teams.
Also, i hope the coaching staff get into baertchi's ear about getting shots on net. i find that if he's gaining the offensive zone, he is doing 1 of 2 things, either trying to dipsy doodle into the middle and split the d, or taking it wide and trying hail mary centering passes. With hudler on the line, would prefer he be looking to get into scoring positions more and get some shots on goal.

If we had proper strength training we would have won this game. Since we don't 5-4 stars.

You know who hasn't done Sweet FA lately? Galiardi.
I mean, aside from dive and fall down a lot.

on another note, i've watched just a few dallas games this year, and it was clear, Jamie Benn is a downright elite player. He's big, creative/slick, and just a highlight reel waiting to happen type player. Shoe-in for team canada, i'd imagine.

You mean skate hard and draw penalties, cause Flames players never dive....right?
I actually noticed a few games in how many penalties Galiardi draws, and started paying much closer attention to it. He does draw a good amounts of penalties fairly by keeping his feet moving. He also must chirp a lot out there, because the other teams seem to really go out of their way to get at him. I do have to say he has had more than a few....embellishments.

I don't see us winning. Our strengths are outweighed by our weaknesses and our weakest weakness is our strength.
