I miss Kartworld.

What's gonna be in this thread in 20 years?

Yep, sure is. I remember going there for a birthday party when I was like nine and seeing this gumball machine that would shoot your quarter back out along with your gumball... I was able to get like fifteen before I got dragged away, lol!

It was a super grimy place but I really loved it

I had fun at kart world when I was a kid, too. There used to be one by the airport that had fast cars as well as the normal slowish ones. Last lap was the best because you could forget about all the rules and just let them kick you out at the end.

This is premature, but I will sure miss the Saddledome when it's demolished.

So many important memories there, not just of hockey games, but of major concerts as well. It was such an iconic building; part of the city skyline; part of the olympic heritage. It's embedded in my upbringing and my psyche. It will be hard to see her torn down. I miss her already.

Has anyone else played hockey as a kid there? My Atom team was invited to a tourney. I remember the ice been so hard/smooth compared to the awful city arenas. One of the best memories of my life

They seem to be struggling. There are 5 still in Calgary, but they've had several close in the last 1-2 years.
But it's just a guess. 20 years is a long time, but they feel like a franchise that perhaps doesn't last.
BP seems to be dominating the family restaurant scene and wiping out a lot of others.

It's on the outs because it's terrible. Populated by old people with no taste buds left, or old people and their family that they suckered into coming. Die, Swiss Chalet.

My inlaw's love Swiss Chalet, they are also 70 with no taste buds. My anecdote confirms your take.

This one disturbs me the most. The urban sprawl of Calgary is cancerous.

Could you possibly photoshop Kessel's head a little bigger and more forward on your avatar? That's horrible.
