Manipulating a vulnerable elderly woman into being a false ally, and manipulating others into her enemies and essentially stealing away her social world for the sake of money isn't just being a heartless dick, it's absolutely reprehensible.
Irene will forever remember that those people respected her so little, and can never go back to fully trusting those people again.
Atrocious. Almost like manipulating your vulnerable partner by poisoning his girlfriend's child...

You could look at it that way, though I think Jimmy's initial reaction was WTF HHM? These people are going to be dead soon, give them their money. He though HHM was screwing these seniors so they could pocket more money. It was in HHM's interest to hold out, not really the clients. Which is what Jimmy was showing with the peanuts. Now once he thought about how much it was I think it tainted that initial reaction and drove him a little aggressively. As with all things Jimmy, I do believe his heart was in the right place at the start.

Maybe I missed something, but I don't think the settlement has actually been finalized? Jimmy seems to be celebrating that it's going to be finalized -- but there's a season finale episode still. I think if Jimmy actually ever got the Sandpiper money, he wouldn't have continued practicing law.
Or maybe he pissed it all away on an epic weekend bender. We'll see!

That's an interesting take on the events of last episode. I'm not sure Jimmy or HHM is really working for the best interests of the clients at this point - Jimmy wants a quick cash in, HHM wants a protracted gravy train. You could argue that going either way (settling now vs. litigating for a potentially larger court decision) is in the clients' best interest. But maybe I'm being too hard on Jimmy and he really was thinking of the seniors (at least at first).

Yeah there's no way he gets the money and lives happily ever after.
I wonder if Chuck's threat to sue plays a part. I can't imagine litigation alone would be enough, given the timeline involved but if he somehow sabotaged HHM it could affect their ability to conduct the Sandpiper case.

Can Jimmy collect on the settlement if his license is suspended? I think he's screwing himself.

I dunno if I'd describe Jimmy as "spiraling". He starts off scamming people for beer money. By Breaking Bad he's got a pretty great setup, by Jimmy standards that is. He needs to be hustling to be happy, and his solo practice gives him that. It's not until Walter takes him down in BB that things go poorly for him. The look on his face when he's working that manager job, just shows how much he loved his Saul Goodman life. As Saul he's the king scammer.

Wow. Can't believe it is the season finale already tonight.
They are posting and tweeting that it's the longest BCS so far, so be prepared on your DVRs.

If Chucks lawsuit against HHM ends up driving the firm to insolvency before the Sandpiper case is closed then Jimmy gets nothing, Chuck possibly a nice payday. We'll see I guess.

Chuck has to die now. I'm not a big fan of misleading cliffhangers. Unless it turns out the mystery power drain was a smoke detector. Although I think that sequence works better if the power drain is a macguffin of sorts, and it was just meant to show Chuck was losing it hard this time.
I feel like Jimmy could have done the reveal to the elderly a bit better to avoid having them hate him but I get that it helps establish that all his ties to his old life are being severed.
Howard just crushed Chuck by out maneuvering him and calling his bluff.
That look Fring gave Nacho. Love it.
kim burnt out and taking a break. Perhaps the whole Mesa Verde and then Chuck fiascos have soured her a bit. I wonder how this affects her next season. Will she get caught up in Jimmy's schemes and quit law? I feel like Chuck's words to Jimmy about always hurting people will be prophetic for Kim.

If Chuck does die, I wonder if Jimmy will get any money as his only living relative? Knowing Chuck, he probably left everything to his law school or something.
It appears Jimmy won't see the Sandpiper money for a while now. Maybe that's how Gene's storyline will end in the "future"... Kim rolls up at the Cinnabon with a big cheque and they live happily ever after. Yeah, I don't see that happening.
Looks like we'll get wheelchair Hector next season. I wonder if that will mean we'll also get more of crazy Tuco?
Was saving Irene's friendships Jimmy's last act as a good man, before he becomes a Goodman?

Right. Why not just address them and admit that he manipulated Irene? If he was straightforward and told them he was desperately broke after losing his license, and needed the quick payout, he might have kept a little of their respect. Nevermind calling them feeble and near death. But I guess everything has to be a scheme with Jimmy.

Great episode tonight, and a solid finale. I'm just annoyed we'll have to wait until next year for SSN 4. Apparently AMC hasn't even announced yet if it's being renewed.

I'm surprised there's any doubt about Chuck dying. It seemed kinda clear to me that him kicking the lantern off wasn't an accident.

Chuck's last two scenes - Edgar Allan Poe. About the best TV I have ever seen.
