Well that isn't gonna work, now who will the government blame for LNG / oil projects always being delayed?

Shocking that if you deal with Indigenous groups properly that they would be supportive of something that is a net benefit for them just like it is for the rest of Canada.

I think you are treating indigenous groups monolithically and not as individual nations with disputes over future resource development both between and within nations.

If this guy spoke for and controlled all indigenous people in Canada your point would be well taken.

But even individual tribes don't agree on individual projects.

As an example: this Tribal Council: https://fnp-ppn.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/fn...=8769&lang=eng

Is comprised of the Stoney Nakoda and Tsuut'ina nations.

Indigineous people, tribes, and nations are not any more monolithic than any other ethnic group, and won't agree on politics any more than a bunch of white Albertans will unilaterally agree which party to vote for

While I don’t work in stakeholder relations, I do attend plenty of meetings that they set up with First Nations groups, fairly confident that if anyone referred to a tribe the focus of the meeting would change immediately.

Is oil even that cheap right now? I hear all these arguments for $100 oil, and I get the supply/demand dynamic, but historically it seems pretty average at $70, if not even a little high.

When you factor inflation due to money printing, $70 is the new $55-60. It's good enough for industry to make a solid return and the consumer for the most part.
