A house is not a retirement strategy, and if it is what exactly is the plan? You sell the house and… hope for the best?

You have undoubtedly achieved so many gains if you bought anytime before 2005 that the price of your house would have to drop by 60 or 70% to lose all of that.

This is legit entertaining haha

Counsellor Penner made this guy agree that diverse home styles are required. But his speech said he's against blanket rezoning.

Seriously, you guys have been reading/listening to some ridiculous news sources if you think that is even a remote possibility.

The reality is, and any sane person can see, none of this will really change that much.

Everyone knows no matter what happens with this blanket rezoning, the WEF is gonna lock us in 15 minute cities, take away all of our property, and make us eat bugs. Open your eyes sheeple!
Can't tell if you thought we were actually serious. I have lots of green text for sale if you need some.

Walcott and Penner have had some pretty epic schooling moments.

Why are Walcott and Penner so arrogant and condescending? They should be nicer if they want to win people over to their side.

Surprised how restrained they are to be honest. I bet even the most ardent, “it’s worse to be condescending than wrong” disciple would have cut some speakers off early and called them irreparably stupid after the first day of panels.

I haven't found them condescending at all.

McLean on the other hand...
Or Chabot talking down to one of the students....

I think for the most part, the speakers who have a defensible position can defend it. I kind of wish there was a trap door behind the pulpits for as soon as WEF is mentioned, or they get slimed.

I could be wrong but I'm guessing that was sarcasm.

My sense of sarcasm may be a bit off after 5 days of listening to this hearing.

Is council not allowed to offer rebuttals on any false information that is being perpetuated by the panelists?

That would turn things into a debate and add months of time. Better to let people yell at clouds for five minutes and then go back to their lives.

That’d be a bad idea. Let them spout and move along.

Councilors can choose to engage with speakers at the podium if they want (I have personally presented to council during a public consultation session once before and a councilor asked me a few follow-up questions), but when you're dealing with the whacko WEF/15 minute city/conspiracy theorist nutjobs, the best approach is to just let the crazies have their five minutes of speaking time and then ignore them.

A person wanting to get away from wi-fi signals is a new one. Better Call Saul vibes.

I'm in favour of blanket rezoning, but has anyone presented a rebuttal of the lack of parking space? Does the city have plans to boost transit so that people can do away with their cars?

I’d like to see where these single family homes are that have absolutely no parking besides on the street.

While I am sure there are, is it prevalent as people are making it out to be?
