Default Flames lose 5-2 to the Sharks due to a terrible 90 second span and snakebit offense

Just not our night tonight, it happens. This was a very winnable game; a horriawful 90 second span and absolutely snake bitten on offense was the difference. Jones was a beast tonight. Credit where credit is due: if Smith can continue that kind of play for the remainder of the schedule that is just fine for a backup. Still 2 points up at the top of the division with a game in hand. Regroup, get ready for Vancouver.

Sharks better start the car. Not worried about facing them in the playoffs in the slightest.

Flames were the better team. What a misleading score. Complete horseshoes for San Jose. Just a bad stretch of goaltending in a minute and a half or so, and the puck refusing to go in for the Flames. Onto the next.

Travis Hamonic is the grittiest player to wear the flaming C since Stephane Yelle. My god, his poor body. Someone get that man a stiff drink and throw him in the hot tub.

Frustrating loss as it happened basically within those couple minutes but really liked the push back in the second and third. Anyone of those chances goes in and we're at least off to OT in my mind.

Move on, destroy Vancouver and all will be well.

I liked Peters yanking Rittich. He’s made that same bone head clearance in multiple games. Loved the effort after down 3-1.

Learning lesson.

I sure can. He was directly responsible for both goals and did not look engaged at all.

Smith gave the team a chance to win. He had no help on the goals that he let in.

Not sure how many more games we need to lose because of poor goaltending.. but we need an answer fast.

Yeah. I mean, Smith isn’t the reason we lost this one but Rittich has earned a much much longer leash. 20-5-4, 2.49, .918 doesn’t deserve to be pulled after 2 goals. Especially when Smith seems to get 3 or 4 before he’s pulled.

We needed this L. We haven't really played lots of hockey. And San Jose wanted "revenge" on Simek's concussion. Whatever.

Rather that they own us in the regular season, because I beleive we should own them back in the postseason.

Sharks = elite playoff chokers. That's my lesson for today, kids.

And we were due to lose a bad game.
