tonight was just a poor effort at all times. The team is seriously lacking confidence right now. They look defeated. Hard to win if you don't believe you can.

I sense a shake up soon.

They should try to trade Chris Wideman for Jonathan Marchessault. That would solve some of the talent issues.

The Flames would have still been in 1st even if Vegas won. They have the tie breakers with less games played and greater ROW.

The game ending in regulation was a good result for the Flames.

You're correct, but this outcome was still more favourable simply because we wouldn't have to rely on tiebreakers.

The same goes for the conference.

Okay, six canadian teams played. The Flames were the only ones to have the night off. The Jets were down 3-0 in the 2nd period and made it close as the Wild did hang on, literally, to win 3-2. Minnesota didn't get a shot on goal in the 3rd period, it was 13-0 for the Jets. Dubnyk did his voodoo stuff again and his team was 4 for 4 on the PK. Zucker with 2 goals and the Wild are now in 8th place in the west.

The Canucks get a point as they lost in OT to the Coyotes 3-2. The big deal here in Canuck land was that "thousands of Vancouver fans were prevented from watching the game on TV due a local cable provider's technical issues." Shaw Cable was having some major problems with both the Oilers and Canucks games. For those outside of the Canucks region, the Coyotes feed was used on Centre Ice. The Coyotes 2nd goal looked like it was kicked in, but, it counted. Panik with the GWG and the Coyotes are now just 6 points back of the last playoff spot. The Canucks are tied for 10th place with the Oilers.

Lots was mentioned here about the Oilers 4-3 SO win. Too bad the Panthers couldn't win it.

The Blues stay on the playoff radar with a 4-1 win over the Habs. This rookie goalie on the Blues made some amazing saves in the game, Binnington with 28 saves. The Habs fall to 9th place in the eastern conf.

The Leafs welcome back Hyman from injury and the Leafs won 4-2. The Leafs had a 3-0 lead in the 1st period. The Devils turned it on in the 2nd period with 18 shots and scored 2 goals. They had nothing left in the final period, just 3 shots. Kinkaid kept the Devils in it as he faced 43 shots.

The Senators have now won 2 straight after their dreadful 8 game losing streak. They beat the Kings 4-1 after being down 1-0. Nilsson was in net again for the Sens and made 34 saves for the win.
