Smith is completely untradable.
The real issue here though is Peters. How he can justify feeding Smith all of these starts is beyond me. Oerter should be taking all kinds of heat here. Just baffling, especially with Rittich playing so well this year.

Who's the active #1 to call up of Stockton, I haven't been following but I heard something of a goalie injury?

Gillies. I doubt they call up Parsons unless they're absolutely at the bottom of the pickle jar.

Mike Smith is the Nathan Peterman of goalies.

The fact that "The Wizard" went into the season with a broken down Mike Smith as our #1 proves he should be fired.

So what do you GM's do if Rittich pulls a Smith? Let's not forget the rest of the team isn't scoring for squat. No offensive help lately.

@AHLHeat
The Heat have added goalie Ryan Faragher on a PTO. Goalies Jon Gillies (day to day - lower body) and Tyler Parsons (week to week - upper body) are out

I don't care what they do with him. Just don't put him back in the net. Enough is enough! While management waits for him to find his game, he's busy digging a hole for the team!

I don’t see why a call up is required
First step is just to give Rittich consecutive starts
Smith can be the backup for now

Pretty much any flames roundtable where Smith comes up
Or any other obviously poor roster choice that wills has some platitude straight out if slapshot to use to explain why it's the right move for whatever reason despite mountains of evidence to the contrary, like suggesting peluso was going to get into Ryan Kessler head
**edit** misread what you said. Wills basically tried to pretend like the last almost calendar year of goaltending didnt happen and is apparently living in December of 2017 when Mike Smith hadn't had 3/4 of a season of being a sub .900 goaltender, pinder tried to spell it out to him that not only has Smith been trash, but rittich has also been outstanding and deserves some starts outside of just not being mike smith

Peters' plan for riding Smith for better or worse this game is beyond perplexing given how well Riddich played against the Habs last month. How do you not give Riddich another shot at them, especially at home??? Perhaps Peters was getting pressure from the brass, or had some wild idea that Smith would step up, but now there is no excuse... If we don't see Riddich handed the reigns for the next 4 or 5 games something else is going on.

Honestly I'd rather take a chance on Steve Mason. There's no way he'd be worse.

There is no one to call up. Schneider and Mason McDonald are it with Gillies and Parson injured, those are two ECHL goalies at this point in their careers.
It's ride Rittich until he falters now and if that happens they have to make a trade.
Smith looks done out there, even the pucks he stops are all going straight out into the slot.

Smith is beyond horrible this season. Just total garbage. Like many of you, I've had it with him. I wanna say pretty much any other goalie in the league would be an improvement.

I think you try and get Smith out of his funk. I think that experiment is done. Now is the time to give Rittich some games

I don't think they need (or even can) trade him.
They need to sit him for a number of consecutive games.
Smith is 36 and playing like he's 45.
He's a UFA after this season.
the Flames need to see what they have in Rittich to determine what to do in the offseason. Flames playing Smith over 60 games is a recipe for the lottery if his performance currently is maintained over the course of the year.
Peters needs to wake the F up and open his eyes
