Default Markstrom 3 Flames 2 (OT)

Boooo!

Crappy end to a game where the Flames dominated for the most part. Canucks were opportunistic and Markstrom played a great game.

Oh well. Take the point and move on to the big divisional match-up on NYE vs. the Sharks.

Another great game from Rittich tonight.

Neal may never score an NHL goal ever again.

Flames have lost four of five.

I guess that just means they're due to win six straight.

What's with the other team's goalies going into God mode in OT

Bad coverage by Sam on the winner.

canucks completely outclassed but somehow luck out 2 points. i guess that gets them worse lottery odds, the only thing they have a shot of winning within 5 years

Disallowed goal, Backlund hauled down in alone and nothing.

####ing rigged.

Backlund blatantly fouled on an OT breakaway, quick whistle on an obviously good goal.

Frustrating. Flames had no finish even strength or on the PP either though.

Still mired in a bit of a slump, but at least we're putting points on the board even when slumping.

If the official is not an incompetent moron that is a 3-2 regulation win.

Didn't play as well as they could have. Especially in the 3rd. Take the point. Flames also robbed of a goal because of a quick whistle. Could've changed the game.

Onto the next. Time to put the work boots on, 60 minute effort.

Outplayed in the third. They need to realize that other teams are going to play them hard now that they are one of the best teams in the conference.

Really didn’t like a lot guys tonight. 2nd PP is absolute trash that gives me flashbacks to last season.

I thought we were considerably better, but the Canucks are very good at blocking shots and getting sticks in the lanes. I think we only had ~30 shots, but I'd be pretty surprised if we had less than 50 shot attempts.
Frustrating to watch.

Flames best players weren't good enough tonight. The Flames controlled the play for a large part of the game but most of their best forwards did not have good games as Monahan, Backlund, and Tkachuk in particular were poor.

The 2nd line is slumping badly. Tkachuk has played poorly for a lot of December and Backlund just doesn't have another gear and is looking like a guy better suited for 3rd line role. Guys like Bennett and Neal can't seem to get off the schneid. Johnny can't do it all by himself every night and some the rest of core forwards need to be better.
