The Coyotes ARE ahead of where the Oilers are at right now, without McDavid...

The best is the look on MacT and Lowe. Unphased. Seen gong shows like this all the time.

And it played a huge part in their undoing.

The whole city has a "Draisaitl was a beast that proved he's a #1 center" in the Ducks series, so they paid him like that in the next off season.

If you dig in though it's not the case at all.

In the Ducks series he was 43% CF, 44% SCF and 46% HDF ... badly out played.

And shot 27.3% in the playoffs as a whole.

Outplayed, and unsustainable = big ticket

Not to mention, going off memory, the Ducks were putting a lot of their effort into shutting down McLotto. If Draisaitl was the "#1 centre" he would have been eaten alive in that series.

I think they should fire everyone and put Katz's kid in charge.

The most delicious talk for me right know is “Is Matthews becoming the best player”?(courtesy Sportsnet). Oiler fans are bending themselves into pretzels to make their points, same with Leaf fans fighting for Matthews.

I would laugh and laugh if neither team made the playoffs, but I can’t see that with the Leafs division.

You know who the Oilers could really use right now. Taylor Hall.

It would be interesting to see how much the Oilers would have to give up to get "Hallsy" back.

1st round pick, Draisaitl and something else likely. That trade seriously set the Oilers back. Could go down as their very own version of "Gilmour - Leeman". Doubtful they will ever recover.
