Keep on keeping on guys! Over a long enough timeline the Gulutzan system is the best system! Know the system! Trust the system! Love the system!

So Johnny potting 30 goals in ~a full season isn't an accurate reflection of his potential.

But Ty Rattie....the guy who has 9 total NHL goals in 49 games (15 goal/82 game pace) should be given the benefit of a 14 game sample size to extrapolate to 29 goals?

Checks out to me.

Creepy "Hunter" creeps up on women. Then proceeds to throw his tire into traffic, which they have to cut/edit becuase it probably hit a car. Well done Edmonton!

He lands the oilers in near cap jail, and the only thing he has managed to do is somehow make them worse, year after year. It is truly quite entertaining to watch as a flames fan. From a business perspective, if I were Oilers ownership, I would want him gone before he continues putting more holes in an already sinking ship.
Guy. I wasn't trying to defend him.

This thread title seems like the worst one yet, by a pretty wide margin. Although I didn't submit one, so who am I to judge?

The tenderness with 32 goals. Now I've seen it all. Just pure lunacy.

Neugent Hopkins getting 32 goals as a 25 year old having just gotten 24 goals with 3/4 of a season I can see an optimistic October Oilers fan hope. Its the 31 goal Lucic that is insane, as a 30 year old with 10 goals the year prior.

The beauty is that it would still be applicable, because there's a good chance one of K-Lown or Danny Bonaduce assumes interim GM duties.

What???!!!

This might be one of the most brilliant play on words that I've ever seen. This might be my favorite thread title of any of them.

I'm loving the new thread title.

I think it needs a theme song though:

Bolded is the important part as he only has two seasons with 80 or more games.
457/540*82= an average of 69 games a season for his career. He would need to score at a ~40 goal pace to hit 32. That lucic prediction is definitely far fetched as well, but at least he's scored 30 before.

I agree I’m not sure the purpose of the periods between the syllables though. That makes it look funny. The Portmanteau is fantastic.

Let's use more realistic numbers based on say their career averages over 75 games since they're going to miss time for injury and this list has 13 forwards and 7 defensemen who can't all play the same 82 games. Numbers rounded up to the next highest goal to be nice to Edmonton(meaning we're being about 10 goals too generous to the Oilers)

McDavid - 31
Nugent-Hopkins - 20
Lucic - 18
Draisaitl - 21
Rattie - 14
Brodziak - 11
Strome - 13
Cagguila - 12
Kassian - 11
Puljujarvi - 11
Rieder - 14
Khaira - 10
Aberg - 6

Klefbom - 8
Nurse - 6
Russell - 5
Benning - 5
Larsson - 3
Jerabek - 4
Gravel - 1

Total - 224

So while it's possible if the entire Oilers team is healthy and hits weighted career highs and they ice 20 skaters per game instead of 18 they could hit 332 goals, a much more realistic number is 224 aka they're still no good and still not going to make the playoffs.

Oh wait I forgot Yamamoto is the same size as Gaudreau and they drafted him in the first round so he's going to be even better and save the Oilers. The talking heads were idiots thinking the Oilers were going to do anything last year and they'd be stupid to think anything is different this year. Just like the Cleveland Browns they're good for a fluke season about once a decade.

I think your numbers are a little off. I expect them to score in the same neighborhood as last season, 230-240 goals. The problem is the disparity that will exist between lines. The first line will score 100-120 goals. The rest of the team will score 110-120 goals. They don't have any balance in the lineup. Without McDavid driving the line, they are pretty much no good. All of them. It will be another long cold winter in Edmonton because the only way any of their players score with any consistency is to play along side McDavid. That just ain't bad, that's no good.

It was used in a photo meme as a play on a dictionary entry.

As a stand-alone word, I suppose it looks a bit clunky.

Either

Edmonton is No Good VI: Chiadenfreude

Edmonton is No Good VI: Chia-denfreude

is more readable.

The important thing though, is that Edmonton is still as no good as ever.
