Last time he did that he was in his 20's and playing with Johansson, Kuznetsov, Burakovsky & Backstrom. He'll have a great bounce back year if he manages 15 goals.

By "in his 20's" I assume you mean three years ago when he was 29-years-old.

CP group ticket buy so we can heckle him in person?

If you miss the music montage I’m sure you will be able to catch it when they recycle it for his retirement announcement in a few years when he comes back to retire as a Flame.
If you miss that I’m sure there will be a third chance when it is recycled again for his Forever a Flame night.

Part of me wants the Flames to offer Versteeg the 13th forward spot just so we can hear that live on TV when they play.
Bless that man.

Best of luck to Troy and his family, I hope he gets his game back on track to close out his career on a more positive note.

4 years ago, do you think he's likely to start getting better again?

I will admit, I defended the Brouwer signing at the time. I thought it was a little risky, but I didn't expect him to drop off so hard and fast. At the price the Panthers are paying, it's a low-risk signing though. Worst case scenario is that they bury him in the minors and eat the cost.
And who knows, Gulutzan was terrible. Maybe Brouwer can redeem himself and become somewhat effective again. I know Brouwer got an unearned amount of PP time, but the PP in general was terrible and I don't think that was all on Brouwer. And even though I thought GG and Cameron were ineffective coaches, We didn't have many other option either. I can't help but feel like Brouwer was set up to fail. He was put in over his head.

Good Brouwer has been signed elsewhere for what he is actually worth 850k 1 year instead of the multi year 4 million per he was being gifted here.

How is it a good thing though? I would say the track record of old, slow forwards lacking skill and drive have a pretty low ceiling compared to a young, fast, skilled forward potentially trying to make a name for himself. Terrible move by Tallon.

Brouwer was one of the best 12 forwards in Calgary last year. Period.
This year he would not be. Thank god.
I expect he is top 12 in Fla.
Worst thing you can do for the development of a young skilled forward is play him 4th line nhl minutes.

If you look back on any of the 2016 free agent lists Brouwer is 12-14 as most sought after, and slated behind
Lucic
Eriksson
Okposo
Ladd
Boedker
Hudler
None of these players were good signings.
The thought process was there with a whole on the right side but man did all those players whiff.

Florida's biggest problem last year was their bottom six and their fourth line was one of the worst in the league. Brouwer is an upgrade on Haley. There's also the connection Brouwer has with Tallon so I can see why he did it.
I see nothing terrible about Brouwer on a 1 year deal worth 850k, he can be send down or put to the press box anytime if he continues to mail it in. There is very little downside for Florida.

I think if you look at the threads going back to that free agency most of us thought those deals were almost all bad. Kind of sad that real NHL GM's could not see what fans could.

I think he just believes he's better than his stats. That's probably a positive - just having confidence in himself. If it leads to a sense of entitlement it's bad.

But Calgary's bottom six, especially the 4th line, was one of the worst in the league and Brouwer was part of the problem...
Maybe they should sign Stajan too!
