Ah read that wrong. I thought you were saying all no trade clauses are recreated and submitted before each season.

NTC can come in a variety of ways. Some can be solid, as in the person picks his no-trade teams and they remain the same for the length of the contract.

Others can submit a number of teams on a certain date, say for example July 1, of each year.

Others don't have to submit anything until asked to prior to (the likely) trade.

Only game tonight. Doesn't mean anything.

You sign a player like Stone during free agency. He is a dime a dozen player. Plus he's overpaid as a bottom pairing Dman.

JVR would be third on the Flames in points and one goal off being tied for the lead in goals scored at the moment.

Leafs have Hainsey and Zaitsev on RD so Stone is playing bottom pairing so why would they even think of doing this?

It makes the most sense for the Leafs to hang on to JVR. He was great last year in the playoffs. Once the season is up he can go get paid and sign with whoever.

LeBrun on TSN:

Quote:
What’s the price for Kane?
With the Buffalo Sabres on track to miss the playoffs for the seventh year in a row, an Evander Kane trade seems likely. But how high is the Sabres’ asking price?

Pierre LeBrun: If the Sabres have their way, it will be a first-round pick, plus a prospect, plus potentially a conditional pick in case he signs with that new team. Now, I don’t think there’s a firm timeline on when the Sabres plan to move Evander Kane. It will most likely be near the deadline. But if a team is ready to pay that price this month, so be it, the Sabres will move him. What’s happening though is a number of teams that have shown interest in Kane are also saying we don’t know if we’re going to be buyers, we have to play out this month, get to the All-Star break, and then we’ll know. So I think there’s a holding pattern.

I know it has a snowballs chance in hell of happening, but imagine Tavares going UFA and signing here.

Tkachuk - Tavares - Frolik
Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Bennett - Jankowski - Hathaway
Mangiapane - Dube - Brouwer

Hrivic/Lazar

Giordano - Hamilton
TJ Brodie - Hamonic
Kulak - Stone

Wotherspoon

Smith
Rittich

Tavares at 10 million per would put the Flames cap at about $74.5 million total with that roster.

.....aaaaand END dream sequence.

^ You dream the huge dream of getting Tavares but can't find the room to dream Brouwer off the roster?

Ryan Reaves is a guy that would give this team some extra push against the Ducks and Kings in the playoffs if we make it. Toughest guy in the NHL who can skate very well for a big man.

Haha, don't need to. If the cap goes to $80 million that team would still have close to $5 million in cap space.

Brouwer is an OK 4th liner and provides depth. The biggest issue with him is his cap hit in relation to what he brings. If the team isn't cap strapped no point in buying him out unless he's a malcontent in the locker room or something, and you don't want him down on the farm poisoning the well water.

we can't add a guy like Reaves until Brouwer is moved or put into the pressbox.

It screws up the lines too much.

I have a strong suspicion they find a way to have this be his last season.

While he's had a couple solid games as of late, he's a black hole, and his spot would be much better served slotting in a younger player. Your 4th line looks great until it's Brouwer on the RW just killing any momentum for those younger players.

Next season Brouwer will be the 13th forward and then will get bought out. Swing and a miss... but oh well.

Yeah i was reading Hf Pens the fans think he has no place on the team given what they gave up for him and the Pens struggles. This team really needs a guy like that i would do Frolik given how this team is playing good without him. Yes i know that would break up the 3m line but even Lucic stays away from this dude. Blues fans love him they want him back.

You would trade Frolik for Ryan Reeves?

Frolik is a good player on a good contract as a key winger on our best line. The 3M line has gone from great to ok in his absence, likely because Backlund and Tkachuk are dragging Brouwer along.

Reaves could be had for a late round pick or a guy like Wotherspoon.

That's the only player i would give up given we have no draft picks and i wouldn't trade any prospects for him. Imo this team needs a guy like that against teams like the Ducks, Kings , Stars and the Jets. Im thinking about the playoff push and the playoffs.

Pens gave up alot for him. They are not trading him for Wotherspoon.

Really hope we can add a goal scoring based forward. Kane and Hoffman are both players id like to see here, but wouldn't over pay.

The Flames are not getting guys like that unless BT is trading core players back. We have no draft picks and why trade prospects this is not a Cup team.
