They’re not close to being a contender and their window is about to slam shut.

What an awesome shootout goal by Kovalchuk. I hate the shootout, but that was amazing.

Brock Boeser and Jacob Markstrom win the shootout. Edmonton stays one point up on the last place LA Kings.

That Leafs game could have gone either way but Andersen made quite a few big saves and Matthews came to play tonight scoring his 100th and 101st goal of his career.

Leafs back to having the 2nd best record in the NHL due to most ROWs.

From the bottom feeders to the flip side, it's now a 3 way at the top and almost 4 ways with the Predators wining.

Final scores
http://sportsstats.cbc.ca/news/NHL-R...ate=02-14-2019
https://scores.nbcsports.com/nhl/sco...p?day=20190214

The Islanders are playing great hockey because Coach Trotz is the man. The Isles beat the BJs 3-0 as Cizikas scored 2 break away goals and Greiss gets the SHUTOUT making 31 saves. The Isles record in the past 2 months is amazing, it's 20-5-2.

The Blues made the Coyotes look like road kill as the Blues won 4-0 to win their 8th straight game. Tarasenko scored 2 goals and Binnington with the 21 save SHUTOUT. His record is now 11-1, great rookie goalie so far.

The Lightning lit up the Stars 6-0. This team is simply a scoring machine, yikes. Tampa Bay scored 4 goals in 7:21 during the 1st period. Vasilevskiy stopped all 32 shots for the SHUTOUT. Stamkos scored 2 PPGs and had an assist and Kucherov with 4 points (1g, 3a).

The Predators beat the Habs 3-1 and that puts the Preds right behind the Flames and others in the top of the western conf. It was another battle of the Subban vs. Weber trade, both players were held off the score sheet. Subban was even and Wber was -1. Both goalies pl;ayed well with Rinne getting the win making 34 saves. Price takes the loss making 32 saves.

The Knights tied the game at 3-3 in the 3rd period and then the Leafs scored 3 times after that, 2 goals in 55 seconds, to win 6-3. Matthews had a 3 point game. Both teams scored a SHG. The Leafs are playing very well on the road, their record is 19-7-2 so far.

The Avs surprised the Jets 4-1 in Winnipeg. It's the Jets first loss at home in 10 games. Nieto had 2 assists for the Avs and was one of them was on a SHG scored by Compher. The win puts the Avs 2 points back of the 8th place Wild.

The Bhawks have been steadily improving with their young coach as they won 5-2 over the Devils, their 8th victory in 9 games. Cam Ward was excellent in goal making 41 saves making up for his poor performance against the Devils a month ago when he let in 6 goals. Kane had 3 points. Schneider was decent in net for the Devils making 31 saves, he hasn't won a game in his past 24 games. The Bhawks are just 2 points back of the Wild.

The Canucks 4-3 SO win over the Kings puts them in a tie with the Wild, but, have 3 less ROWs than Minnesota. As mentioned earlier in the thread, Markstrom was terrific in net for the Canucks. Gaudette tied the game with 98 seconds left in reg time.

The Capitals made a statement with their 5-1 win over the Sharks. The Sharks scored the opening goal and that was it for them. Oshie had 3 points (2g, 1a), OV and Backstrom each had 2 points. Talk about an uneventful 3rd period, the shots were 6-5 for the Sharks.

The who cares game had the Detroit beating Ottawa.

My mistake. My eyes simply didn't see his name on the scoring summary and on the screen while I was watching the highlights.
