The most positive thing to me would be he spent the last two days in Toronto in that case.
Meeting was the afternoon of the 3rd and means he spent all of the 4th in Toronto too.

See I assumed he went back to SD later that day. I figured they were coming back to SD to get him again. Lol

There are reports on Twitter Kawhi was not on the plane but it arrived at SD to pick up friends and family. Nothing confirmed though.

Yeah I don't think anybody really knows what's actually happening.
But either way it being the MLSE plane flying back and forth and not the Lakers plane or the Clippers plane is probably a good sign.

This whole thing is an embarrassment. Following around planes and quoting random people in Yorkville who say they saw him is just ridiculous.

I think it's at the point now where it's a bit of satire on itself. Just a bit of fun for the media in what is a really slow time of year for sports news.

This would mean the Lakers are out because they lose cap space tomorrow.

It's because of the AD trade. At that point they can ask the Pelicans to delay the trade to keep max space, but obviously that won't be cheap.

Don't think the league would like that, like a dozen subsequent moves around the league were predicated on the AD deal

I don't have a problem with it. They are giving him $40milus/year! So insane.

I believe in the Jays.

Long term is sure interesting. I think everyone thought / assumed Kawhi would never sign long term in TO.

Is a 5 year deal with a 3rd year opt out allowed?
Seems like that would be what he would want

Apparently you can only opt out in the final year.
That said, a handshake agreement with Ujiri that if he ever wants a trade to a Los Angeles team, Ujiri will do it, might be enough to give him that comfort. A non-contractual out clause, if you will.

Oklahoma City is trading All-Star Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers for a record-setting collection of draft choices, league sources tell ESPN.

Too bad. But there should be no hard feelings. He did as much as anyone could possibly expect of him.

Well the West will be interesting to watch at least. Looks like the Raptors will return to mediocrity sooner than later unfortunately.

It's not with the Lakers so this is acceptable. I figured Kawhi signing with the Lakers would have been the exact opposite of who he is as a human. So I'm okay with this. Dude delivered and did his job.

too bad... the Clippers have been the rumored team he'd sign with since he was in San Antonio, so it's not a surprise - though obviously disappointing.
He delivered a season that will be remembered for all time for the Raptors...
Good luck to the guy; loved watching him play
i think the Raptors will try going after a big UFA next year, since i think the market has been picked clean for this year.
Yannis in 2021!
