Listening to a great Japanese band this afternoon called "Lillies and Remains" (they named themselves after the Bauhaus song) and they do an awesome cover of this Killing Joke song:
“Echoes” is 10 stylistically warped cover songs and 4 Artichoke originals. Artists covered include: the Kinks, Blur, John Lennon, Camper Van Beethoven, Jimmy Buffett, Tom Waits, Robyn Hitchcock, the Ramones, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Billie Holiday.
I was gifted a very, very nice ukulele this year and have been going through lots of ukulele videos when I came across this very nice cover of one of my favorite songs from the 90s.
Just a side note, Brian Boomer was almost a typical rock and roll tragedy. When Helix broke up he went broke and ended up working in a convenient store. His vocal cords were pretty much shot due to his singing style and lack of training, he decided to move to London Ontario after he was mugged and he hired a vocal coach. Now he runs a company called planet helix that teaches young heavy metal singers how to sing properly.
