I've been flying a lot more than usual this year and I'm developing an interest in all the different types of aircraft. Not a full-fledged plane spotter yet, but I'm wondering if you guys have any recommendations for apps where I can keep track of all the ones I've flown on or seen as well as learn a bit of info on them?

I personally use my flight radar (https://my.flightradar24.com) to track the flights I've been on along with the plane.
Unfortunately, the site is all about tracking so it's unlikely you'd be able to learn a lot of info on them from there.
Concorde to return to flight? A group of enthusiasts have raised 120 million pounds in an effort to get one back to flying condition. Lots of obstacles to overcome so I'd still consider it a long shot but man would it be awesome to see one flying again.

Wikipedia is excellent. FlightRadar24 helps identify in the sky. Admittedly I don't know what it's be like in Calgary, on the Atlantic Coast is cool as all the big boys fly overhead.
You can subscribe to the Airways weekly newsletter too.
I try to vary what I fly on. New 737Max is coming up the week after next, and CJR900 on Monday.

New livery is really growing on me, in particular the tail. It's a little ironic that WestJet link started service day before yesterday so brand new paint jobs on those Saabs and they are already out of date.

I do enjoy the tail of the livery, but I don't like how much the windows cut the "WestJet" wording. I'd understand it if it was just the J, but couldn't they shift it north?

I figure it'd look better shifted lower like Alaska, but it's the way everyone is doing it now... all they had to do was make it bigger, but there wasn't room because they felt the need to include the "Spirit of Canada" trash.
Anyone know who it is that choppers into the Eau Claire helipad regularly in the cream colored helicopter with the green/red/white pinstriping? They seem to doing it a lot lately.
My guess is Jim Shaw seeing as his office is next door.
Just had a very low pass of at least 3 larger military helicopters in Okotoks. Didn't have my phone with me, but they had large pods hanging off each side of the chopper.
