Seems like the right place to put this ...

Treliving on a few things including the Tkachuk draft.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/960/boomer-...s-career-path/

Sure seems to me he's confirming that he was attempting to move up to take Tkachuk not JP

I think, despite some questionable UFA signings, a questionable trade or two; the reason so many Flames fans like and trust Treliving is that he comes off as a truly intelligent person. Whenever I hear him interviewed I'm always struck by how thoughtful he is, he doesn't seem to have a big ego and appears to constantly be trying to get better. He's very steady, doesn't seem to be prone to emotional swings. Just my thoughts.

Tkachuk is our best player, franchise player, and probable future captain imo. I hope the flames do whatever it takes to keep him his whole career.

He's a GM that we sorely needed. I know some give him flack with his UFA signings and maybe not going "all-in" for a player at the TDL, but his rationale in every decision makes me confident that whatever he does is right. I think he will do everything in his power to retain Tkachuk. It will ultimately be up to Matthew if he wants to stay here or not.

I think fans underestimate how hard the job is, because the fans get the benefit of hindsight.

For me personally, I remember my "decisions" that I would have made -- and it turns out I'm a terrible GM. Maybe it's just a really hard job?
