I felt so bad for him with the way it ended here..he was a mainstay here and was a Flame for almost the entirety of the black hole that was the Young Gunz era, then in 2004 we FINALLY get good...and he gets injured right at the beginning of the playoff run, misses the entire thing, and gets shipped out after the season. Poor Denis...would've loved to see a vintage Gauthier check on that punk Hatcher in the 2nd round.

I thought of Lombardi, but wasn't sure if he counts. He is a Quebec Anglophone I believe. He is probably bilingual, but I do believe he was raised in an English household and going by his name, I don't think he is ethnically French either.
He is from Hudson, which is an Anglophone enclave in Montreal.

Also loved Tangs. When we got him from Colorado, I was elated.

Did get us Carey Wilson, though.

Haha, I remember Montreal fans and media being so disappointed when they realized that Rene Bourque did not speak French.

I loved Alex Tanguay. I know that it didn't really turn out, and I for sure see the warts his game had, but he was just so dynamic and exciting to watch. Especially that first season that he showed up, he was a treat.

I would have expected more love for Fleury, here. Wasn't he your captain for a number of years?

He would probably have more votes if he was French Canadian.

Tanguay was the better player, but Gelinas is ahead of him as a favourite.
