- pretty solid effort for the rusty Flames
- some bad bounces did them in on gaining two points
- top two lines rolling
- third D pairing dominant
- best version of Noah Hanifin we've seen?

frustrating game, agree with your assessments. to my eye test, top 2 lines looked good, 4th line did not

Agree, I am on the side that miss Brodie too. Class act. Overall though this is as solid a set of 6 d as we have seen in years

Leafs won because of 3 ridiculously lucky bounces

Annoying that Brodie got just enough of that pass from Backlund to Derek Ryan to disrupt that 2 on 1 !

I was not a fan of the defense pairings when they split up Hanifin and Andersson, but I admit to being wrong - well half-wrong at least - on that, as Hanifin-Tanev has been great. And it isn't all on Tanev either, Hanifin has played really well.

Still not sure about Giordano-Andersson though. I liked Andersson on the second pair with Hanifin, because it freed him up to jump in the play. But him doing so now is exposing Gio's lack of speed.

I still think I prefer Giordano-Tanev, Hanifin-Andersson.

Regardless, Hanifin has been really good so far.
