Thanks for the kind words Jack, that damn cancer struck down another person far too young. You can only do so much chemo before the body has had enough. Oh well, we soldier on and hope for a cure one day soon.

Wheels fell off in third set, with Leylah falling 6-1
For 2 sets she matched Garcia shot for shot

I did not see the Wawrinka - Rune match, but Stan was up 5-2 in the second set tie-break and lost it 7-5. Pretty gutsy effort to regroup and win set 3 7-5 by old man Stan.

Great point by Bianca to tie first set 2-2.

Narrator: it didn't last.

Spoke too soon, maybe possibly.
EDIT: Nope, that was a one-sided tiebreak. Still, good fight from Bianca! Gave Iga some trouble, even though Iga has not been at her best I still think that's one of the better sets of tennis I've seen Bianca play for a while.

There are some tasty matches on the desert docket today on the men's side:
Medvedev vs. Zverev
Rublev vs. Norrie
Carlitos vs. Draper
Sinner vs. Stan
and the nightcap
Felix vs. Paul

Felix has never faced Paul. I'm going to take Paul in 3 sets. He's having a better year so far than Felix.

I agree that I think it's going three sets and if Felix is going to win, he needs to serve a heck of a lot better than he has the past couple of matches. Paul is having a fine start to the season, this is going to be a tough match for FAA.

Zverev takes the first set over Meddy in a tie-break. Medvedev griping about the court and how slow it is, I think I heard "It's a disgrace to call this a hard court".

The court plays the same for all players at the end of the day so I consider that a pretty lame excuse for losing a set. It's a slower hard court but it's been that way for a long time so what was he expecting?

Yup - He's still griping to the chair umpire lol
Medvedev: "I know what is hard court, I'm a specialist"

Uh oh, Medvedev is down and it doesn't look good.
Edit: Getting his ankle looked at by physio, seems to be in pretty good spirits despite how bad it looked.

Second set just like the first, we need a tie-break to settle the winner. Meddy needs it to force a 3rd set.

Oh my goodness, Zverev hits an overhead smash and Medvedev jumps up and hits an outright winner from the back fence.
Edit: We need a 3rd set to decide this match.
