First time encountering a GGG post, I take it?
Ignore it. Even given the “problematic” origin (by the way, “problematic origin” is a frankly meaningless issue if its use by people is not), it still has some practical application simply because — as his own quote states — “it provides partners an opportunity to reflect on, discuss, and respond to one another’s needs, which is indeed a fundamental principle in relationship science”. It forces people to think about their needs and wants, and to be open about them.

GGG fancies himself knowledgeable about many topics, mostly to justify his life.

Which reminds me of one of my all time favourite Reddit threads, woman makes a post about how her 14 year old sons IQ is in the top 90% of the population. She attributes it to being chemical and vaccine free. A little further reading however would have been a bit more enlightening.

Go read the original book and its case studies. It’s rough.
Essentially there is no evidence to support the concept of love languages as published.

Paper refuting love languages

So it’s a lot like an any of the personality tests, probably right in some way that you could derive learning from but also nonsense with no empirical basis.
But really we shouldn’t use the concept of love languages given its problematic origin.

The best part about love languages was flipping them and laughing our assess off.
Acts of service - Acts of disservice
Gifts - Theft
Physical touch - Physical abuse
Words of affirmation - Words of condescension
Quality time - Crappy time

Lol. You don't need to click the link there to realize that actually her son's intelligence may have genetic factors at play...

I’d also bet on some chemical factors as well.

The sellers of what seems like every item that I've purchased in the last 6 months have sent me emails this week telling me about their amazing Black Friday sales on the items that I already purchased at full price. Thanks, I really needed to know how much I didn't save. Most of the items I bought when I needed them, and waiting wasn't a realistic option, but still, they didn't need to rub my nose in it.

Leons calls me every few months to tell me about their deals since buying one piece of furniture from them years ago.
I gave them my number for the purposes of the delivery/set up in case anything went wrong or was delayed.
But as we know pestering through every form of stored contact information is always a surefire way to retain business.
