I mean that’s not just not a fair response to someone’s opinion. I’m a huge space geek, love Steve Carrell and John Malkovich, and love comedy. It isn’t something I over analyze...
But when it hardly makes me smile watching it, let alone laugh, I’m gonna be disappointed.
FYI, I really wasn't responding to you, i was just agreeing with the poster above mine. I think the analyzing bit was more of a frustration on how every show these days get torn apart and can basically ruin for others who may like but get turned by comments of others.
I think people expected and space force wanted to be a comedy about ludacris scenarios, but it ended up being a show about milieu of life in a workplace with poorly thought out structures and objectives. I'm guessing people who have spent allot of time in large organizations identified with the show, but it could easily have seemed like a pointless story about nothing with jokes that couldn't land.
Someone had to do it...

Space Force has been better than expected, but it really leaves you wanting more. Everything is in place for this to be a top tier comedy except the writing, this thing is lousy with lazy and bad jokes. Maybe they were expecting the cast to improvise a bunch of their lines and it didn't go as well as hoped.
Highly recommend Unorthodox. Based on the memoirs of a woman who tries to leave her community of Hasidic Jews in New York. More of a mini-series than an actual episodic series.

I think one of the problems is people thinking this would be an The Office in Space or Parks and Rec type show. But at the same time, both of those shows took some time to find their footing. Neither season 1 of those were good, especially Park and Rec. I think it has a better foundation than either, so I'm very hopeful.
"Another clunky Spike Lee movie" would be a good way to describe Da 5 Bloods.
I'm not a fan of most of his movies, but this one despite being clunky, was cinematically really good, and dare I say a classic in how he filmed it. The story was a bit convoluted and you wondered at times what is he getting at, but I liked how it was filmed visually.

Good points, there really isn't a shortage of great comedies with first Seasons that were uneven or just plain bad. It can really take some time for the actors and writers to find the right chemistry, especially in Eensemble comedies. The only ensemble comedies that come to my mind as being pretty much perfect from the start is Veep and Silicon Valley.
OK, I was expecting some sort of abortion, based on the comments here, but we watched the first 8 episodes of Space Force last night and we really enjoyed it. Hope they do more seasons. Some good characters, good acting.

That looks terrible.....terribly great! I love shows that are so far fetched that you can just watch it and not care about anything. That looks entertaining.
